Unable to tell from the heli shot, but I think it was an error by Knox that caused the crash?

BEX is tactically naive - You need to place multiple riders in the break to cover options - You place one rider in the break, and then if he suffers, it may be too late to bring back the break - It also means you unnecessarily burn out riders for the following stage.

In other sports, if you have an instance of bad luck you might miss a point-blank goal, fumble the ball, or make a bad play, but in cycling bad luck can mean broken bones.

Kirby trying to argue it wasn't Meintjes against a guy who actually used to work with him, was a bit funny.

But very sad for Meintjes, who has done well to get into the top 10 on the last two stages, where he has looked much better than Martin, so 9th place was definitely in his sights.

I just don't get how is this incompetent hack being able to keep his job for all those years... so surreal.

Gotta say; I was rather surprised - when I quickly checked the live-update before heading home from work - to see that the peloton did not just let the break get several minutes.
But I am glad to see that the Danes are both still there.

It’s enjoyable watching this break work together with the race on the line. Probably futile given the only 30” gap but definitely making this stage more interesting.

I am now officially a Bikeexchange hater
I find it difficult to hold anything against them today. It was (B)DSM who kept the break in check and chased all day, BE only started after Stannard was caught.

But why are Matthews refusing to join the early breaks? Seems much easier than to sacrifice the whole team again and again.
