I like Haig and you can't blame him or Bahrain but the way he's getting a podium is super dissatisfying for me (I don't think Yates overtakes him).
Basically gifted his GC position because of a breakaway and afterwards just had a monster Bahrain train to keep him up there benefitting from attacking moves of other riders. The fact that he's the winner because Yates and Bernal finally pulled a successfull 1-2 is a bit meh.

Don't think Bernal ever attacked today and it was Mäder or even Haig himself who instigated the big move today.

It was only a matter of time before Haig confirmed his GC talent. He was always stuck behind the leaders at Bike Exchange and I always had wondered why he hadn’t been given his own GC opportunities in GTs when Simon wasn’t around considering how inconsistent Adam/Chaves have been the previous four years. He has always looked on the cusp of a breakthrough.
