Pls don't tell me they're gonna let the break win the first MTF again
On one hand I agree with you, but on the other I believe if the break consisted of 20 riders Jumbo wouldn't let it go or would keep it in check.Everyone scared again, I honestly don't get why there aren't 20 guys in the break every first mountain stage in a GT because it wil succeed 99% of the times.
Landa said that he'd need another couple of days to get in shape, and Ineos is probably worried of getting outsprinted by Roglic in the end. I'd think it needs Movistar or DSM (Badet apparently has targeted this stage) to prevent the breakaway from staying clear.Unless someone else comes to the front to increase the pace, break has the stage.
Jumbo are rightfully not bothered on keeping the jersey but might be worth Ineos or Bahrain throwing someone like Puccio or Tratnik to increase the pace a bit as it's good for them if Jumbo have to defend the jersey.

Should also not make it akward and give some good riders too much time in GC.To be honest I think that at this point JV does well to not chase the break
Like, I don't think it would be a good idea to give Kenny Elissonde a 10-minute lead on GC.Should also not make it akward and give some good riders too much time in GC.
Unfortunately, it doesn't seem likely at the moment that his third Vuelta win in a row will be like Rominger's third Vuelta win in a row in 1994.I hope that Roglic will try to dominate this Vuelta as hard as possible. Winning as many stages as he can, as many jerseys as he can. And keep the leaders jersey from start till finish. That would be awesome!
Velefique is not easier.San Lorenzo in stage 18 is a bit harder, too, but yes... 3rd hardest of the climbs that matter.

By my reckoning Tobias Bayer is best placed for the red jersey, Calmajane 5 seconds behind him.
