BTW, if Lopez has the form it will be fun. Otherwise, I am not sure if anything is going to happen. Mas, Carlos and Ayuso might as well sign a paper of truce. They are all happy where they are. Almeida and Lopez are not.

Interesting fight for the stage and Mick Jagger 2.0 took it. Remco seemingly undroppable today, Mas' accelerations had no effect at all. The race for victory seems almost over TBH and only something special on Saturday can change it. BTW Almeida trolling Ayuso was something, he was riding so hard that it seemed he was about to take the victory today.

I suggested earlier in the thread that Craddock needed 2 minutes before the last climb which was just about right - He needed to get away earlier before the climb but when teams have multiple riders then it's a difficult task to get a big enough break.

You do really know nothing about cycling if you say such things.

Do you think Roglic was ever dominant ? think twice.
  • In 2020 Vuelta, if you remove bonus time, Roglic wouldnt even be 1st if not for the ITT. This is NOT being dominant.
  • In 2019 Vuelta, if you remove ITT, Roglic has only 1 min on 39 yo Valverde, 45 seconds on Quintana
  • In 2021, except for Lagos de Covadonga (where Bernal sacrificed himself), he never took more than few seconds on Mas.
Roglic is likeable due to his never give up style, and because he has sometimes smart strategies, but he was never really dominant in a GT. Maybe he was never in top form, ok, but his norm is being barely better if not equal to his opponents.
W1 Remco crushed them.
W2 Remco lost time probably due to the fall, he was still as good as Roglic on Nevada.
I was talking about Vuelta 2022, so all your writing at the start is false.

Remco lost time in w2 and would keep loosing time, it was clear.

Mas attacks were short, weak and actually seemed to negate all of Movistar's work. Yawn.

Very smart move if you ask me. Almeida isn’t a threat for Top3 and he knew that Evenepoel and Mas would let him go. The guy that had to react was MAL which he did and in the end cost him some seconds, including to Ayuso. Nothing to do with trolling but clever and basic race cycling

What exactly was Almeida fighting for? 6th in GC? Big effort for marginal gains. It ended up well but provoking Lopez to react was actually risky, it could've ended up the other way around (Ayuso with problems to follow and no Almeida to help), you never know.

UAE has not ridden as a team all year, except for when Pogacar is racing - It's a dysfunctional team.

I think that UAE, Almeida and Ayuso will try to do similar moves tomorrow and if it fits Saturday. Almeida it’s in a good position to do it again. Evenepoel and Mas won’t bother so why not?

Am only just now catching up watching some replays - awesome, Rigoberto!

After yesteerday's devastating loss of Roglic I was feeling pretty bummed (was already bummed when Alaphilippe had to abandon), so am glad an old-timer like Uran who has been around for a while won. For me anyway it adds some sense of stability in this rather unstable Vuelta.
