Aresnman not even caught now, LMAO. Why in the world would you even join the break if this is your mentality? Madness from Arensman and DSM. Absolutely madness

He can't do many things right in your esteem, can he?
It was a neutral statement, phrasing it that way for comedic effect, commenting on what happened. Look over your shoulder for what's in your baggage and thus what you bring to the interpretation of statements that weren't there to start with.

Rolf Sørensen wants Movistar to chase every break on every stage. Its great comedy listening to, its like a broken record being stuck going on repeat. Yesterday his analysis was that Mas was, by far, the biggest favorite for the stage, ignoring the fact that Remco pulled 10 km straight on Pico Jano with Mas in his wheel and out kicking him. Today, its the same, because, duuuh, obviously!

In that case they should start helping sooner so he can go for the boni seconds.
Would be curious to see if he can drop Remco/roglic/Vine when he needs to pull himself

I think Movistar' tactic is pretty obvious, they are playing the long game against Remco. QS are using lots of energy, and Remco is the strongest rider in the race in week 1. Mas needs to strike when we reach Andalucia, and on stage 20, because thats where you can do the most damage, and thats when Remco is in uncharted territory.

They might help today, because why not, theres a rest day and a TT, but chances are he will lose to Remco today. Picture might be diff in a week when altitude, fatigue and heat kicks in. I think that should be an analysis that all experts should be able to make, but were talking about Rolf Sorensen here, who gets annoyed the second that teams and riders ride in a a way that can be described as 'smart' or 'conservative', or both.

Well, he isn't wrong. Movistar have let slip hundreds of stages (probably not quite that many) where Valverde could have won because they didn't want to spend energy throughout a Grand Tour.

I imagine they must have the wildest post GT parties of all teams with all that accumulated freshness.

So what exactly is disapproving about commenting that a rider in a bit of an exaggerating manner pulled out in front of the peloton to stop for a pee?

In a neutral perspective, was it incorrect? How more clearly could he show that it was time to pee?

Aren't you still calling him Bambi from time to time? It just gets tiring.

And even though you think of yourself as Lord General Neutrality, of course it feeds into the notion that he thinks he owns the cycling world which many people don't like and thus is a contribution to that paradigm.

I didn't see the thing with Valverde, but if he really scolded him, then you're of course right with your (neutral) criticism and I take it all back ;)

Thats not my point, and that really isn't his point either. I agree that they have let go of many stages for unknown reasons, and that has been incredibly frustrating as an Valverde fan, but Mas isn't the favorite on these opening stages. Its obvious Remco is stronger at the very moment, and closing everything down doesn't really make sense in that aspect. Mas isn't peak Valverde, and therefore it makes sense to play it a bit more conservative at the moment and let QS ride after everything. Especially considering I think Remco really wants Movistar to do exactly that when he IS stronger than the rest right now.
