Thats not my point, and that really isn't his point either. I agree that they have let go of many stages for unknown reasons, and that has been incredibly frustrating as an Valverde fan, but Mas isn't the favorite on these opening stages. Its obvious Remco is stronger at the very moment, and closing everything down doesn't really make sense in that aspect. Mas isn't peak Valverde, and therefore it makes sense to play it a bit more conservative at the moment and let QS ride after everything. Especially considering I think Remco really wants Movistar to do exactly that when he IS stronger than the rest right now.

It's not like Remco was much better than Mas yesterday and Movistar haven't won a Grand Tour stage since Gamoniteiru. You have to go for it sometimes even if you're not 100% certain of victory. It's exasperating with all this mañana, mañana.

But the same is a bit true for Mas as well. He is better than Roglic now, not sure about the last week, and he needs to take any second he can get against roglic (assuming he is still 3rd after the ITT)

Aren't you still calling him Bambi from time to time? It just gets tiring.
Yes. And I do disapprove of him in general. But not all of my comments do - I'm no trackie, I can change gears. Just as my prediction that he would have the upper hand today based on his performance on Erlaitz wasn't disapproving either.

Did you also have to tell how tired you were of it every time anyone called Froome stemgazer? Praying mantis? E.T.?

Because Froome has had far more negative comments and far more negative names than Evenepoel. And rarely does anyone feign great offence when it happens.

Maybe Ineos will push it over Faito, but the situation seems quite settled now. So I'm not expecting to see much more of this stage before the last climb.

I only joined the forum in the spring of 2017 (at least that was when I became an active poster and I wasn't as confrontational back then (except for when people were celebrating that Valverde crashed out of the Tour)) so no, but I remember at least once when I tried to tell people how absurd they were with their criticism of Froome. But that was a hard battle and I don't have the energy for it.

Almeida and Soler was behind the peleton. Shall be interesting to see how long it takes until they are back in the front-ish section.

Movistar's WT status panic intensifies the more Covid absences come in. Mas withdrawing would be an abject disaster for them. They already lost a bank of steady Tour points, even if not that much, from him getting it, and they've lost enough from him crashing this year already that they don't need to be scared from both sides regarding his potential withdrawal.
Mas should be ok if he is fully recovered from his bout last month. You can relapse but you don’t usually come down with a different case this close after recovering. I’m not a doctor or nurse but that is my understanding

He has been living in the States apparently. I didn't know that either and was very pleasantly surprised, especially as that means we will hear a lot more about from him.
He was raised in Atlanta, Georgia as a child. I don’t think he lives there now

Nothing ever reflects poorly on Nibali.

Like that race a while ago where he were swerving somebody very dangerously at the front of the peloton because he was angry with him?

But it may just be me who doesn't applaud violence and hot-headedness (and Nibali).

Everyone applauds the good use of violence (except for few anarchists), we just disagree on which is what.
