I still think they will start going hard towards the final climb. I think Evenepoel probably likes the easier terrain to be raced hard before the climb.

I don't know whether youre trolling, willingly ignorant or straight up delusional...Remco Evenepoel is leading the race, and is the strongest rider in the race. Alaphilippe is 100% domestique. Why wouldn't Fausto Masnada, a rider in worse form and with a lot less wins on his resumé, be a pure domestique as well in this scenario?

Last climb took Yates 15minutes 19 averaging 14.77 Kph. So maybe 5minutes is enough for Meintjes.

Fausto wasn't in that race. But it was an excellent performance by Remco
But he did everything he could for the victory. Just as he did on stage 5 here in la vuelta.
He should be at remco side in the important moments.
It's not about the place, it's about the context of the performance in this case.

You could argue it was good tactics by Fausto that day. If he bridges to Pogacar and immediately sits on it could kill the move and suddenly its all together and fausto has to pull for JA for a sprint.
Instead he worked a little bit to maintain the gap and get Pogacar invested in the move so as to get him fully committed, then stopped taking turns.
Has Alaphilippe tightened his shoes?
