Just tuned in, Evenepoel looks whiter than his shirt. Who put something in his drink?
He's finished for today, it seems (/it's clear), one can only wonder if he will abandon the race altogether.

This is the most frustrating scneario; I'd rather have Evenepoel die trying than dropping out because of illness.
yes it is similar to the Giro. Abandon is the most likely scenario

Covid at the Giro and now this today, this is horrible bad luck for Remco. It also kills the race to a certain extent.

What a shame, if Remco is written off today as the last thing we wanna see is Jumbo Visma parading on all the big mountain stages just to nurse a breakaway gain from the first week..

I like Seb but I also wanna see some racing that is the point of cycling, entertainment and hopefully the strongest rider winning it, and not a 3-minute breakaway for a group in the first week, then neutralizing it all, because the biggest contenders are on the same team.

yeah, I hate it when riders in good form gets sick. I still remember how crushed I was when Pinot got sick in the Giro in 2018 (right?).

I hope he can finish the stage, not drop out and win a stage. Hang in there Remco!
I hope he can hang in there, but his face looks like dnf is more likely :sob:

Impossible.

They will just counter him just purely on the number advantage.
Let's first see how the Tourmalet unfolds. If Ayuso is the strongest in the race, he could still theoretically pose a challenge.

To be honest, for the neutral observer I guess that's the only guy who could really do it. Soler? I don't see it.
