Whenever I see a team like Jumbo pulling / controlling the peloton like absolute bosses, I always think about that trainer that once said:
you get much stronger if you are pulling, and you aren't getting any stronger if you are following wheels.

I wonder if controlling the peloton by the strongest team is, in a way, something of a self-fulfilling prophecy...?

Did I just hear Vingegaard make a joke???

Søren Reedtz: Remco asked 10 times the last time, whether he would be allowed to go on the attack. Now he lost more time, will you let him up the road?

Vingegaard: Well, now I'm 2nd in the KOM classification, so of course not.
Leaving out what said after, almost makes this seem like intentional misinformation.

Evenepoel needs what would arguably be the most impressive ride of his career to pull this one off. 2:50 for (almost) all of Cordal and Angliru, solo, having had to do lots of pulling already, is impossible for many a good climber.
He should (and maybe even could) get another 30s on Cordal, and don't loose anything in the descent.
But JV still have Valter, Tratnik, Kelderman,... until the steep part of Angliru, where Vingegaard can take 2 minutes back just by being more fresh, not even by his intrinsic climbing advantage.

There's like an hour of riding left, it will depend on how quickly Jumbo expend their domestiques.

I expect some earlier than usual looking around on Angliru as nobody really knows what move to make.

Remco will get the KOM points, raise his hands, fistpump his chest and soft-pedal to the finish.
"I had a bad day in this race, but now I can be proud of winning some stages and wearing
this beautiful jersey that shows who was the best climber"

"oh and check my strava - look at all the KOMs"

If he pulls this off, it it will almost be up there with Nieve's win on Cotobello.
But now Bahrain wants to Jumbo's dirty work.
