I may be dumb, but why didn't they just let the break go today?! Not that I mind a GC stage, I just don't understand the reasons they go for GC every single day 😁 Who are they trying to put pressure on? I'm so not used to all this GC action 😁

JV is testing all other competitors. Trying to make the stage as hard as possible and see who can follow when Vingegaard and Roglic attack at the last climb.

Basically the same tactic they do at the TDF. Keep making the race hard. With the assumption that Vingegaard/Roglic are best.

I thought the objective is to make the stage harder which make doing damage on the final climb possible? And pick up some bonus seconds while they’re at it! But I didn’t get on the morning Jumbo strategy meeting, so it be can assume I’m just guessing.

Ed. Berniece beat me to it and said it better :)
