This is what happens when public outrage runs races. Organizers will start to panic. It's a very normal human reaction lol.
professionals would not panic... also the stage 1 farce is solely on the organizers and their absolute amateurism. i genuinely wonder what next stages will bring - should be hilarious Benny Hill level of comedy by the looks of it.

It must be miserable being an influencer & having to always find something to rage over. Now that 2 seconds-gate is done, I'm sure there's something else just around the corner for the twitter mob to get their panties in a twist over.

This also brings back memories of that one time someone crashed into the back of Rog's bike in the 2020 Vuelta (stage 5) & the organizers cancelled Rog's gap on a similar type of punchy finale.
For the love of God, cancel this race.
Well, for the obvious reason that there never was a gap of any seconds between Roglic and Mas. However, to officially communicate that there was, only to backpedal a good three hours later is typical Vuelta incompetence.
Ah. I was looking at what must have been the 2k mark that Roglic stopped riding at with 2 seconds gap, and not the 2050m mark.

This gap between Roglic and Mas is apparently 2 seconds, lmao. The memeing doesn't stop.
Well, the distance between the riders at any part of the stage is of no importance. The only thing that matters is the time difference between them crossing the imaginary line between the cones next to the ladder, as it customary.
