Only 6 is weird and I would assume a big counter will come soon, but then again, I thought that too when Van Aert won. But there is plenty of teams that missed this, I still expect DSM to get Poole in it for example.

2 minutes is already a lot to bridge tho.

This is one of those stages where all TV pundits make themselves sound like idiots that have never watched a bike race. Jens Voigt thinks Roglič will want to gain time today while Van Aert wants to win today.

I expect two or three teams to control this until the next climb and hope their riders can bridge to the break.

The bridge will come on the cat3/downhill I think, it feels a bit like the riders up front are digging their own grave but 2.30 is still sizeable so a tough position for them.

No bridge, everything will come down to the last long climb. I wonder who will try to attack - probably a bunch of guys. Cian should be important today.

Profile note:- I think that apparent ramp after the Cat 3 descent is actually just a tunnel.

Anyway for an obvious breakaway day the easy Cat 1 should provide a good battle - plenty of riders with a chance if they have the legs
Yeah, it must be a tunnel.

TT/Climber crossover mountain but they won't fully race, just control it so Van Aert the easy favourite. Ganna vs Superman was the classic battle on this sort of drag but that was to proper altitude.

I think Visma is doing what they has to do. in modern cycling this is not a selective climb, but once thay have kept a good pace all day, you never knows...something importat can happen. I have did this climb by car and you felle as a grwat climb, becpuse is long. there is no rest, so with is pace all day, long stage, yesterday people finished really tired...we will see, i hope someone at GC triy... although Van Aert is for me the main favourite.

I could be proved wrong but to me this is a crazy way of going about winning the stage for WVA. He could have been in the break and no one from peloton would have chased. Now he runs the risk of riders, a Carapaz for instance, taking a flyer towards the top of the climb and descending like a mad man. He could easily have been in the break with a teammate. And even if it was a big break, WVA has shown many times he is very good and getting ahead of any moves from other dangerous riders

This is the first stage finish I have proper time watching.
I hope something surprising or entertaining is gonna happen.

Looks like WvA wants the GPM points and maybe the stage. Even though is is a long mountain. The gap is close, there should be attacks.
