He forgot that it wasn’t a 15km-long climb and was timing his yo-yo.
Woods' Strava file is up now, and he indeed had to stop:He was definitely behind the crash. Nowhere to be seen before even Van Eetvelt turned the first left hander on the climb. Most riders got held up. Was he going to win, no that seems very very unlikely so riding like that was a bit weird (but I always have something like why not, you're not in front anyways), but he would've done better normally.
That doesn’t contradict what Devil’s Elbow said about the posters on here. Many were saying in the last week of the Tour that Mas was on target to be sharp in this Vuelta.Look at the Vuelta preview on the main page. Al Fotheringham didnt mention Más among his contenders. The other one mentioned him among the long shots behind guys like del Toro.
You kind of missed a turn here, big boy.Great stage and great Roglic!
He is a very regular rider with hihj level, of course, he is already history at La Vuelta a España, and can make more this year.
But when I mean he is nor for me part of the group of extraterrestrials of this era is becouse it doesnt matter how strong Enric Mas can be, if Pogacar or Vibgegaard are at his best, they put today some seconbd to him. end evenepoel is not just good at stage races, he can do crazy thiongs like at the Olimpics. it is normal at him. It is not the same how Roglic won today than how Evenepoel, Pogacar, Van der Poel wins, and sometimes Van Aert, in very different situations...Necouse ha can be second with Van der Poel, but very close, and to win a mountain stage, and Vingegaard is maybe the best today for gran Tours, if he is at his best, and even this year ag¡fter his crash, a point at least above Roglic at le Tour.
Of course it has big merit Roglic is always there, almost winning le Tour, winning il Giro, and winning year by year la Vuelta, with differents rivals... but I hope you understand whay I mean.
Besides, who bothers to read the main page on the CN site? I don’t think I’ve looked at all year,Look at the Vuelta preview on the main page. Al Fotheringham didnt mention Más among his contenders. The other one mentioned him among the long shots behind guys like del Toro.
UAE deserves this after stupidly not letting Ayuso in this race
Crap, I hate to hear that. There were reports that he is sick. Covid situation.
Didn’t he do the same in Stage 4?Wtf happened with Sivakov. He was in the first 10 after those first 500m of the climb so he survived the crash? Did he buy a parking ticket?
I'd say this is the Roglic that could match Pogacar we'd all hoped would show at the Tour. Tomorrow and several more long days will confirm what his true aggressive form could be like since there is little opportunity to satisfy those alternate fans hating on "wheelsucking". It'll be hammer down until he owns minutes on the opposition.Pogi could’ve got the triple easily this season.
Roglic another stomp, looks really in control and strong enough to fight his way back to O’Connor. Mas is always a different beast in the Vuelta, hope he can surprise in the end.
I really don’t think Pogacar would have the same charge in his legs in this awful heat (in addition to two tours). I don’t doubt he could have won, but he would have struggled more.Pogi could’ve got the triple easily this season.

Stage 4 was pure hubris and stoopid to boot. He didn't even check off on what his team's position was and pretty much just baited Roglic and the others.Didn’t he do the same in Stage 4?
Tour had 30° stages, he still cooked everyoneO Connor:
He can pay he is novel in this situation. But he has a good ally on Felix Gall.
When you get a break as he did 2 days ago, and the rest of the leaders didnt pull, of course you are going to pay that effort next days. Yesterday was a shor effort and he was there, but they didnt get him a relax day. Today finally he lost time, but not too much. Israel made hard the stage for nothing, at usual.
He has still lot of advantage and tomorrow he could even to lose the jersay or to lose just one minute. In this case he would be a clear favourite for the podium and still possible to win la Vuelta.
I am with Landa, he looks great and hot is not his weather and this is crazy hot day by day. For mas hot is his paradise, but at the end of la Vuelta Landa has stages very close to his land, He lives with his wife close to Villarcayo (Burgos), when starts Picon Blanco stage (maybe Queen stage). A stage start in Vitoria, and
another one has a little at Alava as well, and that day I will be at pradilla climb to support him

UAE decision now is to make lemonade w available lemons. Del Toro ,20 finishing near the front everyday so far, suddenly best GC position for UAE, what's to lose in giving him some full support for a few days . At the base of GC 8th-20th a good day could have them make top 10, maybe higher overall, Lots of racing left to go.. Do you try and salvage something for Yates or Amedia? Do you look at Pavel Sivakov, riding well, probably a little stronger than Del Toro, certainly more experienced..I really think Ayuso would be doing pretty good by now.

I hope that UAE tries to push one of the two up a little, both are going well so far. Don't know what history or scouting identified Jay Vine as ready.. Maybe McNulty has something left for a good day..?
There is only 2 minutes between 4th and 20th places with a handful of riders that have no chance of remaining there. Del Toro has a great chance of a top 10 or better with a bit of support. They really have to support del toro. He can’t win. But the experience is the goal
Just for perspective, for many watching the race feeds look to have 6+ bottles per, regular stuff, gels and additional bags of ice, riders putting between neck and jersey. Also getting car support with bottles in the jersey pockets, and fill your own cages while you are at the car, Del Toro has been doing 75% of the donkey water hauling and still finishing ok and making a tough selection on O'Connor holiday race. He sort of squirted to the field sprint, if you call it that. I don't want to describe not getting Covid as a quality, but he has dodged it so far it would seem. They really have to support del toro. 30° ain't like 40°. O'Connor made clear after the stage he won how much a difference it made that it was less scorching hot than on stage 4.Tour had 30° stages, he still cooked everyone
