I believe he has cracked ribs. Reality is that it takes 7 to 10 days to get back into form which is pointless at this stage of the race. Anyway, jayco have wasted BOC's season by insisting on an old school slow build up to the TDF and he never got into top form. he works better if he comes into the seaosn in very good shape and tries to maintain it for the season.

Odd the dog owner left his/her chair just as the riders were starting to pass through - they should have planted their arse in the chair until the entire peloton had passed! (Feel bad for the pup, fortunately it didn't cause any harm.)
