If Vingegaard gifted it we will never know, you don't say you did it in an interview

Is Angliru ever really exciting? It's mostly hard, but has the racing ever been very enjoyable to watch? I don't think I've ever been on the edge of my seat during Angliru.
It was fun and exciting when they didn't have adequate gears yet, before every other mountain goat track had been paved and used in a raceIs Angliru ever really exciting? Guy is out there dedicating his life to be one of the best cyclists in the world, and on a level you aren't at anything you do in your life, and he's a coward.
Psh...peopel can be absurd.
You say "my opponent was stronger and deserved the win". Which is exactly what he did. And which is probably also true, but that doesn't mean Vingegaard couldn't have won.If Vingegaard gifted it we will never know, you don't say you did it in an interview

In reality, it's probably a mix of the two things: feeling exhausted AND not seeing the greatest need for an all-in sprint. If Vingegaard gifted it we will never know, you don't say you did it in an interview

But if they both crash out tomorrow, one will leave with two stage wins and the other with a stage combativity award.

I know that you aren't at the level of a GT winner, in whatever it is you do. If you were, you wouldn't need to post on cycling forms, about people being cowards. Hey, I'm good at what I do, but I don't have the same dedication to what I do, as Jonas does to what he does, and even if I did, I wouldn't be at a level equal to a GT winner in cycling. You have no idea who I am
And yes he is.
Many things can be true at the same time, Ameida's moves put him in a great position overall, everyone below him on GC is definitely going to need an act of God to take @2 minutes back from him in his current form..he made the best with what he had, and his dynamic decision to just race regardless if his effort benefited Vingegaard was bold!! Super fun to watch. As far as rider to rider comparison.. Ameida was definitely as strong as Vingegaard today, he did way way more work than Vingegaard, and look at the day.. Victory, gut check on everyone, including Jonas, bonus seconds and a bit more buffer.Guys, tell yourselves whatever you need to tell yourselves, but Jonas was never in danger of getting dropped. Jonas is still the strongest rider in the race. Cope.
I'm not sure what Armstrong has to do with this. I'm a fan of Jonas, and I hoped he would win today. He himself said he wanted to win the stage. But he said after the race he did not have the legs to beat Almeida. Give Almeida credit. It was an epic ride and win that none of us will forget.I'll take that over someone like Armstrong, any day.
Vingegaard looked well within himself to me, and I don't think Alemda is capable of dropping him. I never saw a hint that he could be dropped. If that UAE jersey were on different shoulders, I think that would have been different, but we're talking about Almeda, not Pogacar. Don't know about watts and calories but Almeida looking outstanding compared to Vingegaard.
Mas attacking and Hugh Carthy coming back to win while Roglic struggled was a great one.Is Angliru ever really exciting? It's mostly hard, but has the racing ever been very enjoyable to watch? I don't think I've ever been on the edge of my seat during Angliru.

What's most likely is Vingegaard knew the finish, but Almeida simply changed his pacing plan to be able to ride hard from the final uphill bit to the end. They lost considerable time at the end, and Vingegaard never felt comfortable enough to come over the top on the uphill.Almeida remembered the final 200 meters better than Vingo, methinks. The Dane wanted to win but didn't have space to overtake at the end.
He wanted to win but he didn't want to win after being on the wheel for the whole climb. That's just not his style, no matter how many people may hate him for being a wheelsucker or whatever.Almeida remembered the final 200 meters better than Vingo, methinks. On my commentary they were saying Jonas needed to attack before it flattened out. They were right.Almeida remembered the final 200 meters better than Vingo, methinks. The Dane wanted to win but didn't have space to overtake at the end.
The "he's too much of a gentleman to win" argument is just weird. He wanted to win but he didn't want to win after being on the wheel for the whole climb. That's just not his style, no matter how many people may hate him for being a wheelsucker or whatever.
What you "feel" and what you "know" are not the same mate - but this debate is going nowhere, so I'll leave it at that - have a nice eveningI know that you aren't at the level of a GT winner, in whatever it is you do. Tell yourself whatever it is you need to tell yourself.
I think Horner v Nibali was the most exciting race on this climb that i sawMas attacking and Hugh Carthy coming back to win while Roglic struggled was a great one.
