Well, ITT might change that....

Well to be honest Kuss rarely gets to go full out in an ITT, he did it in the Giro and had an awesome time at the end. The only problem is if the team would tell him to go easy, that would suck majorly. I doubt he loses 3 minutes to Vinge or Roglic even on a flat TT. 25km TT is less than 30 min effort.

A good performance by the other Lenny too (Van Eetvelt) - 12th came in with Buitrago at only 1min 32 sec down on Kuss.
Looks good for another breakaway later in the Vuelta.

Red after Xorret Catí, and Libertine posting a few very solid posts complaining about how miserable a rider Kuss is.

I was thinking that the whole time—after Roglic went there were so many separate top groups-solos to follow we were bound to miss the action in some them (which we did).

I honestly think they should just show the footage of every single camera on screen simultaneously.

Kuss for red please

I don't think he's gonna take it on the flat stage tomorrow.

Quite clear he had a bad day if guys like Mas, who couldn't touch him last year, were simply riding away.
I just hope he's not ill and can bounce back. If he's beaten because others are stronger, that's fine, but today he was clearly struggling with his pacing, almost even losing Cattaneo's wheel.

Mas dropped him multiple times last year.

great stage, two takeaways

first, Ineos is the biggest loser team on earth. why the HELL were they pulling today? they do not have a real GC rider in this race. their DS should be fired.

second, Remco needs to shut his mouth about giving the jersey away. he did the same thing at the Giro and got away with it, but not today. his team is going to pay hard for what they had to do today and it's all his own fault because he has a big mouth.

sick? taking the last few km on a big mountain climb faster than Vingegaard & Roglich.
no excuses, he did good, and managed that time-loss perfectly.... its still the best grand tourers in the world that Remco is fighting against... impressive that he could limit that loss.

You do know that they dropped Mas and that the two of them together were able to go faster than either alone? They rode it perfectly.
In addition, the odds of Mas being able to outclimb both Vingegaard and Roglic over three weeks are pretty slim, even in the Vuelta. Even if he had stayed with them, it would have been worth it for the time gain on Evenepoel.

Which suggests that Storer's pace on the climb was good - I think Storer could get a stage win.
Think Storer will have to do a lot of domestique duty tbh, only guy on Groupama who can stay with Martinez in a peloton of <30 riders. And Martinez will likely stay in the top-3 until at least Tourmalet, assuming the jersey isn't offloaded to a breakaway.

Honestly, that was a pretty great stage. No idea how things develop from here. Was this just a bad day for Remco? Is he also ill or maybe injured after his crash? And in any case, what will Jumbo do with Kuss almost three minutes ahead of their two leaders? Control for Kuss to take the gc or ride for Roglic and Vingegaard? But then will those two start attacking each other? This stage threw so, so many variables into the mix.
“This stage threw so, so many variables into the mix.”

I love it!:)
