After Mas recovered from his TDF injury, he then had a training crash which resulted in him losing training time. I expect Mas to fade during the TDF.To be fair there were questions on the lingering effects of his Tour crash this time.

Well, ITT might change that....
I was thinking that the whole time—after Roglic went there were so many separate top groups-solos to follow we were bound to miss the action in some them (which we did). And now is one of those times where split-screens would be nice.

Kuss for red please
Why not just enjoy the awesome stage rather than immediately looking for just desserts? Can we rewind a couple days when the remco mob was jubilantly speculating he is da best of all?
Quite clear he had a bad day if guys like Mas, who couldn't touch him last year, were simply riding away.Breaking news, Evenepoel's reaction to the stage:
Kuss lost less than a minute to Vingegaard and Roglic on the climb.

I just hope he's not ill and can bounce back. If he's beaten because others are stronger, that's fine, but today he was clearly struggling with his pacing, almost even losing Cattaneo's wheel.
You do know that they dropped Mas and that the two of them together were able to go faster than either alone? They rode it perfectly.A teammate thing to do would be to sit on Mas and that's it. Or attack yourself and force Roglic to sit on Mas. But closing the gap is not cool.
sick? taking the last few km on a big mountain climb faster than Vingegaard & Roglich.Quite clear he had a bad day if guys like Mas, who couldn't touch him last year, were simply riding away.

In addition, the odds of Mas being able to outclimb both Vingegaard and Roglic over three weeks are pretty slim, even in the Vuelta. Even if he had stayed with them, it would have been worth it for the time gain on Evenepoel. You do know that they dropped Mas and that the two of them together were able to go faster than either alone? Obviously all the concerns folks had about the effect of the Tour-Vuelta double or Giro -Vuelta double are easily solved by just riding all three3rd GT for Kuss and he wins a stage, insane
Think Storer will have to do a lot of domestique duty tbh, only guy on Groupama who can stay with Martinez in a peloton of <30 riders. And Martinez will likely stay in the top-3 until at least Tourmalet, assuming the jersey isn't offloaded to a breakaway.Which suggests that Storer's pace on the climb was good - I think Storer could get a stage win.
He already made a decision with the team. We are left with having patience.Bernal with 12m loss.
“This stage threw so, so many variables into the mix.”Honestly, that was a pretty great stage. No idea how things develop from here. Was this just a bad day for Remco? Is he also ill or maybe injured after his crash? And in any case, what will Jumbo do with Kuss almost three minutes ahead of their two leaders? Control for Kuss to take the gc or ride for Roglic and Vingegaard? But then will those two start attacking each other? This stage threw so, so many variables into the mix.
Ineos should switch to full stage hunting at this point. The DS of the sport got to know that. Should mean free reigns just for just about anyone on the team to join breaks etc., so he will have his possiblities now.He already made a decision with the team. We are left with having patience.
