Walsh playing dumb in a lame attempt to avoid further discussion of the nonsensical Pierre Saint Martin figure put forth by Sky.

You missed my point.
That could be Walsh's personal motto on everything.
The guy doesn't have a clue and never did.

Walsh played the Bumbling Fool part there. Acts like an idiot to avoid giving proper answers.

As far as his interpretation of the role goes, I've seen countless Clinic trolls do it better.

Actually, there was a couple of hints of "Child Being Caught Lying and Immediately Going Full On Incredulous Denial Mode" in there too, which I thought he had down to a tee.

Walsh angry and not happy that people are questioning Sky and Froome, why is taking Sky's side. Is he not supposed to be impartial????

I can't stop laughing.

What is this :p

Can you provide a link?

Walsh is an embarrassment to anyone who calls themselves a journalist. That he is lapping up the nationalistic bullsh!t in this fashion should be humiliating, but apparently, he only has righteous indignation toward otherworldly performances of only certain people...

Honestly, those opening lines are horrific writing just from a writing standpoint. Add to that the insult of mild xenophobia, and one can only shake their head in dismay.

What I can't fathom, in furtherance of Chewbacca's correct point about nationalism, is that Walsh is Irish...It shouldn't really mean that much to him to see a British team do this. I would expect him to be someway neutral - but it's as though he's a fully fledged Brit the way he writes....

Which means, and this is even worse, that he's playing to the gallery of his British readership.

He made a fool of himself in that interview - the time the interviewer rightly mentioned 67.5kg and the obvious discrepancy from the 66kg value previously given, Walsh ran for the hills like Manuel in Faulty Towers - I no understand.

In a few years time when Sky are falling apart, Walsh will jump to the other side of the fence and claim he was "sceptical" and "anti-doping" all along. That's how much of a douchebag he is.

Yes, to be fair to all journalists, they don't have a clue about most things.

That dig doesn't work.

Walsh had a clue about Armstrong, Michelle Smith, Contador, Rasmussen....Walsh has taken the 30 pieces of silver for ...(pick a reason i.e. greed, employment, pension etc etc)

Kimmage has a clue about cycling , but not the minutae. But he recently raised the issue of doping in Rugby and Rugby is the #1 sport in Ireland at present. Not good for the advertisers of the paper he works for.

Shane Stokes is a decent cycling journalist, not as critical as he could be, but then he probably wouldn't get a job as a cycling journalist.

Kimmage/Walsh are sports 'journalists'....

Brailsford blacklisting Journalists, a la USPS and Stapleton.
And most knowledgeable fans of cycling have blacklisted Walsh from their list of credible journalists. There's no reason to read his work unless one is searching for the latest themes from a Sky spokesperson. Walsh was irreversibly exposed in that last podcast interview.

Antoine Vayer interview on Off the Ball. e talks about spending some hours in 1999 talking about data, power, w/kg with Walsh and Bassons amongst other stuff.

I just listened to each of the Tucker, Kimmage, Walsh and Vayer podcats. Walsh has completely lost the plot, trying to rewrite history about Lance and the dates when he had the evidence rather than suspicion, ridiculous comparison to Cavendish power testing and still thinking shouting down the interviewer or feigning outrage make your point more believable. He has completely lost it.

He now states he only went after Lance because he had the evidence. Obviously forgetting he wrote this.

"In 1999 Sestriere became a fork in the road for the Press Corps. Those who wanted to do Journalism went one way; their old comrades took the other route. Things wouldn't be the same for a long time."

Then spent the next two or three years trying to find evidence all the while writing that Lance wasn't believable (rightly so).

Well the fork in the road for Froome was Vuelta 2011, then 2012,13 and now. But now Walsh is a cheerleader.

I have a feeling that 1999 narrative is also a fabrication, or, at least, a half-lie. It made him look better at the time. Of course, he is still making himself look better. It is his modus operandi.

It actually is true that everyone in the pressroom laughed at Armstrong on Sestriere, others, Jeremy Whittle, Pierre Ballester have verified it.

Walsh got a bee in his bonnet about the treatment of Bassons by Armstrong. That was Walsh's turning point and i guess he didn't want to run with the pack as they all backed Armstrong, just like he now as they cast doubt over Froome, he wont.
