Are you running Simplex shift levers? Those were my fave

No they are unfortunately suntour shifters and mechs at the moment. They work ok but I do want to upgrade in the future to campag mechs and simplex retrofriction levers. Those babies are my favourites too but all that stuff will have to wait till I've either got some money to throw at ebay, or some local bargains are discovered!! :)

Loved what those builders did in the late 70's early 80' with the monogram on the fork crown and the topeyes. My father had a Viking (Wolverhampton way i think) That had the "V" in the Topeyes. Also had brazed on cable guide for the front and rear derailleur on the top of the BB. This makes the rear derailleur cable look neater where it meets the actual rear derailleur.

By the way where did you get the natural coloured brake hoods? They look a treat.

Yeah I love those R's too! The levers are old Shimano 105 that I bought off ebay. They are the ones with the grey levers. I'd only seen them previously with either white or black hoods so these were a real turn up as they give a proper retro look to the bike. As do the n.o.s. Bluemels popular mudguards, bargain at £10!

And Ciocc, Absolutely gorgeous weather here in Suffolk yesterday went for a lovely ride to the coast, beautiful!! :D

edit- Forgot to say that those 105 levers in combination with the classic old campag record calipers work brilliantly, better than the matching campag levers imo. Maybe because they're sprung I dont know? Highly recommended!!

Kind of :D

I've hung on to the System Six for club crits where I'm not too fussed if someone puts a quick release or derailleur into the spokes or the frame gets damaged in a crash. With the crazy amount of crashing everyone is doing ATM it's a good thing I've kept it!

The Super Six is also about 1.5 kgs lighter, so it gets used in anything with a hill in it ;)

I know that Tektro has made rubber hoods in the gum color like that in the past, but they've recently changed their hood design. Instead of the goblin-hat, old school pointy ones on JP's bike, they're sorta square-ish now. Like SRAM. Ugh.

I bet if you hunt around you can find some of the old school ones, though.

Pictures should be mandatory in this thread. Some of you must be the the kind of people who read Playboy for the articles.

With the plethora of camera enabled phones even a 1 Megapixel photo would do, well not really but giving the benefit of doubt :p
