In short, people already don't even try to hide their organic enmity towards Froome. I won't be surprise if there will be 'Froome pls don't win'-like prayers come the Tour. :)

It's a little bit hard not to with posters like you lifting every stone on the forum to seek out evry uninterested party and preach about your adulation of him and contempt for his rivals...

If you don't like the sentiment you're hearing then why not be silent and stop provoking it?

Yes that's a rhetorical question.

Im entitled to talk with people who since autumn harped on 'Froome has no chance' in this manner.

Voted the last option "winning every stage".

Motivation: The Anatomic Jock Race-zigzagger has in a revoluationary short period of time come to look like the ruler Lance Armstrong in his prime. His team, Sky, looks as prepared as was US Postal, Discovery and Motorola put together with their all season-peak/winning program and 450 watt cruise control from January to December.

And, more importantly, the dawg himself said yesterday he felt he had a positive test before Le Tour.

Firstly it appears unlikely he will lose, secondly the most likely thing for me is crash etc that takes him out completely or loses lots of time. If other teams are smart they'll have watched last year and worked out what doesn't work and what might. If there was any doubt Nibali showed them earlier this year. This is much harder when 3 weeks of racing exists instead of just 1. Also in CD despite a good showing by the team, you'll also note that a pull by Contador dropped everyone but Froome and Porte.
Sky is the strongest team in the race, but if you allow them to dictate terms this tour is a formality. There are anyone of a number of tactics to derail them, key is trying every day. Waiting and seeing will fail.

That would be awesome if Contador is able to pull and isolate Froome allowing Contador2 to attack successfully. Too bad Saxo Bank only registered one Contador :/

Of course, it is possible that Contador would be able to pull, drop all of Froome's teammates then attack Froome all by himself...

Boo hoo hoo!

Boo hoo!

Organic enmity ... as opposed to the artificial? That would go well with the champ's style.

If Contador can do it on his own, you don't think Roche, Rogers and Kreuziger, could combine to do the same? Also this race isn't just Froome vs Contador, Movistar, Katusha, BMC, Garmin, AG2R, Blanco, Astana, Euskaltel, and Radioshack probably have a domestique or 2 who can do something similar for 5-10 minutes each?

In all likelihood, the Saxo train can combine to drop the Sky train save Porte... which would just leave Contador alone with Porte and Froome. Teams contributing a domestique each to form a train? Sure it can be done theoretically, but in practice I have never seen it done before, and I have doubts that that would do anything.

In other words no one can beat Froome

Schleck got 9 votes? there ought to be a qualifying questionnaire before people are allowed to post on some of these threads.

Funny post. The 2 dudes on the left actually could pass for Andy and Frank after a descent.

They don't have to contribute one each, just say on the penultimate climb Saxo does it. Leaves a group of say exactly those who hung on in the dauphine, SANCHEZ, FUGLSANG, PORTE, MORENO, CLEMENT, VALVERDE, FROOME, NAVARRO, CONTADOR. So now for a descent, and the ultimate climb, the guys who are not sky can play attack and counter attack and let richie and froome do the work to pull back every attack.
Would it work? The chances are low, chances are the strongest guy wins no matter what. However something like this has a much better chance of working than sitting behind Sky as they do exactly what they did last year with Wiggins.

This relies on most of the guys you put in bold to be within 2/3 minutes of Froome by that point, if not Sky would just let them go for a while and keep tempo. This is why it's important Contador doesn't lose minutes in the TT because it will take all the pressure of chasing off Sky. I don't think I've ever seen Sky chasing attack after attack as you put it.

Substitute Quintana for Sanchez.
Attacks after Attacks donot work if Sky steadily pace themselves over the climb. It only tires out the attacker before long. Vuelta 2012 Purito and Valverde combined to pull back Contador by the finish and win. Same was done in the Dauphine, Oman etc

if they were 100% fit only contador or schleck would be the only ones capable of putting huge pressure on froome once they hit the big mountains ... but sadly they look way below form so we can expect another skyborg express to paris with very little fire power coming from elsewhere . i really do not see much of a different pattern to last years race which was a bit of a borefest imho . and before i take any flack for my post please note i am from UK . i admire froome and think he is one hell of a rider but he just does not excite me like the old contador/schleck battles which now look to be part of yesteryear .

but we can hope for miracles !!
