If Cadel podiums the Giro (big, BIG if) I will use the same line of fair dinkum, you beaut, lil Aussie battler reasoning. You can't tie a good kangaroo down, sport.

Likewise when Froome wins the Tour - That he showed a stiff upper lip, defeated the dubious jonny foreigners whilst playing fair, and I will sing the British national anthem on demand etc etc.

And when Horner wins, I will sing this because it's more awesomeness than any national anthem: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tX5ZRE26YWM

I'm starting to think never, but one can hope that he doesn't have the sense to retire.

Why should he retire when everyone else is still charging?

I guess the reason for retiring should be improved chances of not being caught as a cheat, and to be respected by most in normal society (not the clinic of course).
Most people are not as sceptical as us in here, and expect positive doping tests to show up..

Close to signing for lampre apparently. Cant wait for the giro this year.

But most importantly, he is cleans and there is nothing to worry about re USADA

"We've heard about it but it doesn't seen to be a problem. Cooke has assured me there's nothing to worry about."

Gotta say, I have little doubt thats how things are done in our sport. Agent says: just sign the paper, there is nothing to worry about.

JTL anyone? Or how about di Luca? Rujano? Ricco? Etc.

Very pleased. The bigger the races Horner is in, the more likely we get samples for retro testing when they finally nail down this new wonder drug / regime. This was my only disappointment in other, recent GT winners knighted, but not continuing in their quest for world domination.

And I am happy he gets another crack at the big time. The farce of being rejected like that after winning a GT is plain ridiculous.

I actually feel sorry for Chris.

I think he should get a gig.

I dont see the need to single out the individual rider.

You also felt sorry for LA? I mean I understand "the sceptic", a total fanboy in love with CH. But you? I thought you are not biased...

Horner is a victim of the arms race started by sky.

but most who have been thru the sport and seen the highs, have atleast a bank to show for it.

When it is time for Horner to bank, he is persona non-grata.

Yeah he dopes, and lies. So does other teams that are not held out like Horner and Ricco. Just looking for the even-handedness.

Go after those guys who lie thru their teath and look to impale victims along the way with their hypocrisy. see little of this from horner or ricco. And Basso et al are successfully rehabilitated. something does not give

The short answer is never.
Buck up. For how many years did we believe/fear Pharmstrong was untouchable? All Horner (and Froome [rhymes with z-o-o-o-o-o-m]) needs is his own personal FLandis. Karma is a patient beyotch.

Horner can be at a hight level till 45, all depends on the mind and your willing to train and success.

Maybe for Voigt or Cardenas will be more difficult, becouse that have have a lot of battles in his careers, but Horner has years to come and things to do.
