Tomorrow will be an 82 mile trundle round Devon. Fat burning pace as I'll be riding with Mrs C and a friend. Plus, I still need to shift some weight before the Tour of Flanders sportive next weekend. 10kg in a week is realistic, no?

Tomorrow I will be riding in the little shed behind my house, with my ipod for company in the dark as it is too windy to be out on the road.

The other day I was pumpin to Ramble On by Led Zepplin, when I started to think that John Bohnam was drumming out of time.....until I relaised that it was actually a tree falling on the roof and almost crushing me to death.

Such are the joys of living on a small island in the middle of one of the wildest bits of water on earth.

Entertaining blog. The one socked rider made me laugh!

Did very nice first 100km+ ride this year, and feeling not so tired:D for this time of year. Went with two club mates who s preparing for IM in July. Swiss and Italian guys living in Croatia, so there was lost in translation part:D but anyway great ride.

Strong south-west wind, hilly course, long 16km climb, 114km for 4,50h, average 25km/h. Nice steady tempo all the way, lot of bars, sandwiches, water and pasta for lunch after. I must find another shoes, that Sidi killing me.
Here is Google map picture (blue track), forgot to take camera.

Hey, I know that mountain just north of Zagreb. They have Ski World Cups there. I have family in Zagreb. I've never ridden up Sljeme; what's it like, how steep is it? My cousin did a downhill off it and said it was crazy.

Nice to hear that Dude!
South side is steeper than north, 10km long, avg. gradient about 6-7%, record 23 minutes, mine PB 36 min.

Northern side is much longer 16km, but less steeper maybe 4% avg, mine PB 50 min, both are i think 1st cat climbs.
Downhill with road bike is awesome if you are not afraid of bad road, it can be about 80km/h for really good riders. For MTB on off road it can be though too, cos people on track.

Only an easy 45 minutes on the rollers watching TdF highlights for me:(. I had a cold all last week and can't do any heavy training on the road yet.

Just starting off by riding around the block and on around a closed circuit (that you can ride around all day to your heart's content and never worry about traffic).

I do the same damned thing every time: Austin's 360 loop and then an 18 mile loop that goes down to the University of Texas and back to my house.

And it's always windy as hell. Every time.

Can't wait to leave Austin...

I thought you would be going in and around Nerang State Forest living on the Gold Coast and all...

Not yet, I'm making my comeback from a broken collarbone as it's my first proper ride in two months. But yeah I've had some hard days through there on the bike.

North Cascades highway in Washington. Long gradual and, hopefully; warm climbs from Newhalem to Mazama. Nothing technical and very pretty.

If the weather isn't too bad tomorrow yeah... I'm a wuss and'll only ride in the rain if I have to... I might ride a little on the circuit from stage 2 of the Tour of Denmark.
I have a crazy plan which involves me, my bike and some outdoor fitness machines out in "Mindeparken"... :p

I'm jealous. I spend 2 and a half months around Europe in 2007 and I never made it too Croatia :( You guys have some serious hills there.

Me? I finish work at 1pm and I have a 45 minute drive home and after lunch I'll go out on the bike, do bit of a recce of the course for this Sunday's race. I'll try to do 70km.

Well in some parts there is some big hills, on coast per example there is all kind of it, and it is not so funny if you are looking for nice easy ride that day. There is lot Aussies in Dubrovnik every year, and unfortunatly some victims of jumping from rocks.

If you are considering riding really big hills (not Alps but who cares), you should consider Macedonia Ohrid lake or something also.

2200 m Goričica mountain, nice for MTB, French cyclist did maps and tracks.

Or just couple of km from there and you are in Albania (watch yours organs:D there is whole industry about it)
