The dream would be hilarious if Cav was his 2 minute man. Does my dream make me a subconscious Bert fan then?

lol. if Cav-man was up there as berto's 2 minute man that would make me a Cav Fan!

a berto fan, you? i don't know. maybe just missing cycling like me.

cav and berto aren't past their peak we have years to enjoy them :)

Well Berto could be out for 2 years by the end of the month and then like Basso by the time hes back his career will be going into decline.

I would like to think as far as cyclist go im fairly objective and don't support many riders but its hard to enjoy Berts and Sir Marks excellence. The more I see cav speak the more I think.he is a salesman way above my intellect as opposed to the idiot most presume.

oh facepalm! for a moment there i was enraptured in the dream of Cavendish on a mountain top finish only 2 minutes behind Contador. LOL

you mean itt. that 2 minute man. oh well, i like my version of your dream: Cav on the queen stage only 2 minutes off the GC contenders!

Well in my version. He's his 2 minute man on stage 20 of the tour which mean he was 2nd Going into the final tour TT.

do you mean hard not to enjoy? otherwise, i think i get what you are saying. although i'm not a fan of the flat stages, it's hard not to at least see that cav is on another level than the rest in his specialty at this point. and note that no, i wouldn't presume he's an idiot.

I reached my peak...last night at around 7:30...details to follow.
Anyway, how about team directors? Has Bruneel? Jonathan Vaughters IMO is on the rise.

Vaughters is slowly approaching his self righteous peak I agree.

Lol...never fails to amuse me how easy it is to touch the third rail in this forum. But, continue...any other directors full of CO2?

Kloden will be a domestique. The first MTF is before the first ITT, by the way.

Probably, but unnecessarily. But Kloden got accustomed to be a domestique without wasting redundant energy. In case his form will be good I see him losing 30-35 sec on stage 5, assuming Contador may attack about from 3km to go.

Id be more scared of Menchov. Assuming your a white-russian what you got against him?
Nothing at all, though I root for Belarussian riders. Menchov needs 2 heroic TT's. I don't think his this year relative failures were an indicator of lack of motivation. His time is running out.

Well,Yauheni Hutarovich havent already achieved his peak. :)) I believe he can win the Tour stage.

Cunego has somehow reached his peak i hope he goes well though somehow. JROD i don't think can win any GT as there are just too many ITTers who can climb and who are not as inconsistent. Menchov is another good example.

Sagan, Goss and Froome are the people i expect the most to improve next year. Henao as well.

But to answer your question, it won't be easy, but Alberto likes a challenge. It motivates him. If he can put 20 seconds into Evans at the first MTF and a minute in Peyragudes, that should be enough, providing no unnecessary time loss in the flat stages. Wiggins should lose more than Evans on those climbs and always fades during a GT. I don't think he can beat Contador OR Evans. There may be other contenders, however.

La Toussuire - only if Contador and Andy drop the others on the Glandon / Croix de Fer. Otherwise I can't see Alberto destroying anyone on that MTF. So, it depends.

Now only if he was allowed to race. ;)

Here I was, thinking I could get some useful tips for the CQ game. How dumb of me.

Don't look for tips in the actual cq ranking 2012 thread its like a snake pit in there ppl trying to convince each other Gilbert would be a wise pic for nxt year.

I'm thick but not that thick just yet. Now I'm having second thoughts about Ian Bibby.

Riccardo Zoidl to have a good year, my pick.

Hah, I was thinking the same thing. Maybe we should lay out some traps like "which youngsters (preferably with a CQ ranking below 100) will have a good 2012 season?" ;)
Then we'll get suggestions of Jens Voigt and Kloden being past it followed inevitably by Contador/Schleck was the best in 2005/2008.

Zoidl is a good choice really, I believe, he's 23 and came second in the Austrian National RR and dominated in the Tobago Cycling Classic which wasn't a big race but still.
