I did have a dream the other night that Contador leading by 4 minutes in stage 20 of the tour comftably over took his 2 minute man and stopped just before the finish line got off his bike and flipped the birds as theu finished.

Well Berto could be out for 2 years by the end of the month and then like Basso by the time hes back his career will be going into decline.

I would like to think as far as cyclist go im fairly objective and don't support many riders but its hard to enjoy Berts and Sir Marks excellence. The more I see cav speak the more I think.he is a salesman way above my intellect as opposed to the idiot most presume.

do you mean hard not to enjoy? otherwise, i think i get what you are saying. although i'm not a fan of the flat stages, it's hard not to at least see that cav is on another level than the rest in his specialty at this point. and note that no, i wouldn't presume he's an idiot.

Nothing at all, though I root for Belarussian riders. Menchov needs 2 heroic TT's. I don't think his this year relative failures were an indicator of lack of motivation. His time is running out.

Cunego has somehow reached his peak i hope he goes well though somehow. JROD i don't think can win any GT as there are just too many ITTers who can climb and who are not as inconsistent. Menchov is another good example.

Sagan, Goss and Froome are the people i expect the most to improve next year. Henao as well.

But to answer your question, it won't be easy, but Alberto likes a challenge. It motivates him. If he can put 20 seconds into Evans at the first MTF and a minute in Peyragudes, that should be enough, providing no unnecessary time loss in the flat stages. Wiggins should lose more than Evans on those climbs and always fades during a GT. I don't think he can beat Contador OR Evans. There may be other contenders, however.


La Toussuire - only if Contador and Andy drop the others on the Glandon / Croix de Fer. Otherwise I can't see Alberto destroying anyone on that MTF. So, it depends.


Now only if he was allowed to race.

Zoidl is a good choice really, I believe, he's 23 and came second in the Austrian National RR and dominated in the Tobago Cycling Classic which wasn't a big race but still.
