I'm intrigued by Dekker's method of sucking up to Parrulo by being a Machado fanboy in the Willunga Hill TDU stage thread. I smell a rat :p

No problem, and I think Zam could even keep his phone.
But a "trip" is really a too strong statement.

Just visit our nice area, and we can share a lot. :D

Tour of CN

STAGE 8: TRANSFER RUMORS ITT 44KM

Stage details: ITT around the transfers and rumors region. The first 38 km is flat and the final 6 the riders ascent a mislead 6% section.

Previous Stages:
Stage 1 -- Stage 2 -- Stage 3 -- Stage 4 -- Stage 5 -- Stage 6 -- Stage 7

PRE-RACE COMMENTS:
ACF: This team is cr@p, today's stage is based on indidividual merits and i will show everyone what I can do if I had a real team. #parullo2sign4teamacf
Libertine: Who is Parullo? I know no Parullo. That name is dead to me.
Greenedge: Yesterday, I put a massive german sausage in my mouth. I even got a tshirt.

The Race:

The first rider to leave the ramp was none other than libertine. The sprinting superstar did not hesitate to use the team car as wind block. Despite constant warnings the "roadrunner" is going to have no trouble making the cut today.

Shortly later pre-stage favorite Bavarianrider descended the ramp. Immediately the prince of Bavaria relaxed in his incredibly aerodynamic position and started to blitz the field. Normally a shoe in for such a stage, today could be a close thing with a strong headwind attacking the early starters.

Craig posts the best time at check 1. Impressive by the Aussie sprinter. NOW Bavarianrider goes through the time check... AMAZING he has gone over a minute better then Craig at the first check. The Germans looking good early for head to head stage wins.

Back at the start the final rider from the first group is departing, it's Hugo. The same man who discovered Monte CQ ranking back in his expedition days. CRASH!! Hugo slips just meters after departing the block; he's holding his collarbone... His race is sadly over.

Incredible Bavarianrider has past Craig whom just went through the 2nd check in first place. Maybe just maybe Bavarianrider can challenge a top 100 GC spot yet.

As the second group begins to depart the headwind is already considerably less. Ingsve has departed; the Scandinavian champ looks to be in fine form today with a very smooth pedaling action.

Near the finish Bavarianrider is on the climb which leads to the finish line, although not very steep he appears to be struggling. In fact in the vast distance it appears asif Craig is closing the gap. But Bavarian crosses the line with a very good time. Craig meanwhile is rocking his bike all over the place... but manages to take the 2nd best time, good ride.

TOP 3 AFTER FIRST GROUP;
1. Bavarianrider 2. Craig 3. Cobblestoned

Back on course there has been a shift in the wind, now going with the riders no doubt helping the later starters. Mewmewmew meanwhile is tearing the course apart; she has crossed the 2nd check only 20 seconds behind Bavarianrider. Ingsve is also close to Bavarianrider in 3rd place just 25 seconds off the pace.

HL2037 is on course also, He came in only 3 seconds behind Bavarian rider at the first heck but has lost almost a minute on the 2nd check. Fading big time.

Meanwhile the race for the polka dot apron is heating up, aussiegoddess is struggling big time already losing big bunch of time to both thirteen and redheaddane. CRASH!! It's redheaddane!! The Danish Viking slipped when rounded the final corner before the final stretch. She's back on her bike but is failing to get her rhythm back. At the front thirteen has crossed the line with a very decent 4th place behind mewmewmew and Ingsve who just narrowly lost out to Bavarian rider. Annnnddd... redheaddane has lost almost a minute to thirteen.

Finally Aussiegoddess crosses the line and finishes the 2nd group... she loses minutes to thirteen and redheaddane. Disaster TT!!

TOP 5 AFTER 2nd GROUP;
1. Bavarianrider 2. Mewmewmew 3. Ingsve 4. Thirteen 5. Sublimit

We are now up the final group. The fight for GC is going to be greatly affected here!!

Roundabout one of the first starters of the final group is leading the way with a really good time… He has gone 5 seconds better then Bavarianrider at the first check. Meanwhile Boomcie is on the road following DT. And DT crashes!!!!! He goes down on one of the first corners! Hrotha has left the started ramp, Parullo also. Meanwhile ACF has crossed the first check just two seconds behind roundabout.

Up the road MVDB is having a terrible stage. The young Belgium rider is way down on the pace at the 2nd check and any hope for making the top 10 might be slipping here. Roundabout crossed the 2nd check on the exact same time as Bavarianrider. He is now on the final uphill stretch giving it everything he has… And new leader for the stage, he has taking 22 seconds from the Bavarianrider in the final part of the course… MEANWHILE ACF HAS CRUSHED ROUNDABOUTS 2ND CHECK TIME!! The flamboyant Aussie has gone 35 seconds better then roundabout at this point, incredible!!

Youngest, Hitch, Ryo, and Havetts have all started their time trial. And now Ferminal the race leader has started his journey.

CRASH!!! It’s DT again!! Not good for the Dutchman, he is really struggling and in the short distance behind him Boomcie has his biggest rival in his sights! Boomcie is flying... and he passed DT!! A quick glance to the Dutchman, a subtle flip of the bird and he continues with his business passing the 2nd check in an impressive 4th place.

Hrotha passes the 2nd check with a bad time, way off the pace… Now parullo comes thru not far behind the Spaniard. A very good time in the top 10 for this stage at the moment.

ACF is now storming towards the line… a very impressive performance here and he is the new leader! WOW 1.03 better the roundabout. TFF also comes in with a good time only trailing ACF by 21 seconds at the finish.

At the first check Hitch is really flying, crossing on the exact same time as Bavarianrider, meanwhile the youngest trails by a mere 10 seconds; also a good time…. But Ryo is nowhere to be seen? He’s really struggling at the first check well of the pace. Next Havetts comes through the young Dutchman is in real difficulty also but is limiting his losses to only 30 seconds at the first check. AND HERE COMES FERMY! He’s flying… 5 seconds better then hitch!!
Back at the end Boomcie has finished the stage in 3rd place. Meanwhile Parullo has caught and passed a struggling Hrotha who goes over the line with a terrible time.

The youngest is next to the finish; the Dutchman is just 5 seconds of ACF’s time at the 2nd check but has faded a lot on the final climb…. He falls to 6th place behind Bavarian rider over a minute behind acf. OH and here comes the hitch already… He is storming to the line; this is going to be close and…. Same time as acf!!! But the hitch loses by a few milliseconds... incredible!

Were expecting Ryo next… But instead we get Havetts got to be a disaster time for the wanna be Colombian. Havetts is closing on the line and ending very well... He’s just outside the top 10. Loses a minute and a half to The Hitch but is still in the mix. And here comes Ryo, a terrible time considering Ferminal can be seen in the distance. Ryo comes in… and he loses 5minutes to his rivals. Disaster.

Now Ferminal is the last man to the finish, he has slowed down alot, started very quicky and paying for the efforts now... but he is pushing hard on the pain barrier and making his way up the final climb. he is already behind the winning time and now simply trying to hold onto the purple jersey… It’s going to be close between himself and Hitch… But Ferminal is outside of the time by a few seconds and will drop to second place. Hitch takes purple.

POST RACE COMMENTS:
ACF: *during interview* dont touch me... *gremelin slap*
Theyoungest: There is a line you cross, you don't never come back from. Point of no return. Hitch crossed it. I'm here with him. That's means I am going along for the ride. The whole ride. All the way to the end of the line, wherever that is.
The Hitch: *in regards to purple jersey* It came to me, my own, my love... my... preciousssss.
Ferminal: I'll just ban hitch if need be.

A picture of ACF crossing the finish line!

At least know we now what ACF can do. Maybe he will get some team support?

Oddly me and Cadel seem to have the same problem.

Thanks Timmy, nice work!

He did particularly well on his specially adapted lightweight plastic Specialized road bike.

Boomcie on his race:

"TT never lies. Looking forward to the next stages, we'll see how it goes, I'm taking it day by day. Enjoying the race."

On Dekker_Tifosi crashing:

" DT can't do TT, I believe we've established that much today."

"Glad to see the king step down from his throne and be more 'down to earth' (repeatedly)."

"I saw him going down many times already. But in a different context and on a different website."

LOL at the gremlin slap :)

lol you actually managed to make an itt funny and interesting great stage timmy :p

my comments after the stage: "i couldn't be happier with my performance, i managed to cut my losses to perfection. this is a great moral boost. also congratz to libertine for managing to finish inside the time cut without the rest of the team pulling him to the line, really impressive by him."

And here's my post-race comment.

I suppose going to the Chicken School of TTing wasn't the smartest choice...
Unfortunately I had the options of that, the Schleck School or the J-Rod School...
But just so you all know! The fight for the Apron ain't over yet!
