A good question with the Tour of Oman approaching.

So far, no one has repeated a victory at Jebel Akhdar. Always a different winnner. Who do you think will win this year?

Pinot, he's a rider who likes to attack and probably wants a win after last year. He's also raced in Europe so should be in good form.

Valverde should, but then again he could easily find a way to get second. In that case I go with Nibali.

Wout Poels for sure, he already beat Froome a couple of weeks ago.
In a sprint session. Not sure how that translates to an epic climb in February... Poels is very good on steep climbs though.

I voted for Poels, i think it will be him or Purito but Valverde is always in shape and dangerous on these type of climbs.
Rui Costa could be the dark horse.

Meh, don't believe in all that training camp story bull****.

Just like Poels beating Froome in training sprints. It doesn't say anything.
Wielinga owned his leaders at Rabobank in training all the time, and he sucked in races :D

Well, I dont take it too seriously either. I just have a feeling that Majka will be really strong this year.

Not quite sure if Poels and Sky is a good match. He was so skinny already, won't be easy to drop just a few pounds. Also he is quite crash prone and i'm sure it won't help looking at his power meter all the time :)

Poels is crash prone? Please elaborate, I only remember that one crash where half the peloton went down.

So far, he rode for Vacansoleil (terrible coaching, they didn't even do block training) and Etixx (not the best team for climbers either) and he did very well on both those teams, so it's not strange to assume he could do even better.

Purito ftw in 2013 style. Valverde will win sprint for 2nd ahead of Nibali, Majka and Konig. Kreuzegur will show good legs here attacking from the bottom to fade in the last km.

I doubt Kreuziger can be in shape with litttle racing in his legs over long time.

Kreuziger does however seem to be an excellent trainer and rides pretty consistently all year. Also he would have so much motivation.

Then again I agree that a more viable leadership option would be Majka.
