Are Navy Seals gay icons or something?

LOL, TeamSkyFans - I was wondering that myself.

I think that the Seals would have to drop out of the race because after 150K or so their asses would hurt so badly that they would be unable to continue. When do these guys ever ride a bike? Imagine riding 200K in your first spring ride. I don't care how tough you are - that would just about kill most people.

Well if they ARE gayicons, I don't think THAT will be a particular problem :p

Just icons of Occidental masculinity, I guess--regardless of their sexuality or the sexuality of their admirers. You gotta admit: physically, they're pretty impressive.

They certainly make me feel like less of a man. :(

Also, I think a lot of top cyclists have the same body type as these guys, they just target a different type of development. For example, Armstrong sure bulked up pretty quickly when he retired from Disco, and it's not hard to imagine Jan building similar mass if he focused on weight training instead of twelve ounce curls. Or what about Tommeke and Hushovd?

Ooo, and one more point: I would say that, according to the criteria of costume and presentation being used to define sexuality, cycling is probably a little bit "gay"-er than just about anything--including mustachioed SEALs running in their skivvies. In that sense, we cyclists kinda live in a glass house, and I think guys like those SEALs can probably throw rocks pretty hard. ;)

A team of Ryder Hejesdal, Michael Barry and Svein Tuft would beat the Seals (with clubs).

Yeah that's nice and all, but all you really need is Carlos Barredo and a bike wheel (preferably good old fashioned, heavy grade steel. It hurts more than carbon.)

After reading this post, I went back and checked the OP. Turns out the OP had added a spam link to his posting, the only posting he has made in the forum, by the way. I deleted it and banned him.

Chuck Norris would beat everyone including the Avengers and even Mike Ditka.

You beat me to the Chuck Norris

How about Floyd Landis. The race will start at 6 in the morning. The Navy seal starts right on time. Floyd wakes up at 7:30, has his breakfast, showers and warms up. Starts the race at 9 and still manages to beat the seal by a huge gap in time.
