Amazing really, the Middle East/India/Korea are far more profitable for F1 Management so to keep Melbourne in the game Ron just keeps writing bigger cheques.

All so Melbourne can call itself "The Sporting Capital of the World"... Yeh right, not when you are home to disgraceful beings such as Demetriou (but that's another matter...).

i think we are one of the biggest sporting capitals in the world...
- Grand Prix
- Australian open
- Cycling track World Cup
- World Road Championships
- AFL
- A-League Soccer
- Melbourne Cup Horse race
- Moto GP

We also have state of the art Sporting Stadiums which are within a stone's throw of each other.
-MCG
-Etihad Stadium
-Rod laver Arena
-Hisense Arena
-Melbourne rectangular Stadium
- MSAC

The front page of Thursday's Herald Sun is terrible.

Sydney release details to upgrade Homebush, so Melbourne feels threatened and has to defend its claims. Historically Melbourne/MCG has a good resume, but not so much day-to-day. The only thing missing is that it didn't get the Rugby Final and it may or may not get the Football Final in 2018/2022.

Whats he doing if he doesnt win the tour? Stomping off home in a sulk and not coming out for the rest of the season..?

I think he's saying that his net worth will increase if he wins therefore he'll charge an appearance fee!

The Victorian Government will be opening up their wallet no doubt.

Afterall, they were probably going to try and get Tiger back for November again, but that's unlikely now. His Majesty isn't a bad sub.

What's a pack patt? (in the linked article above)

That's shane macgowan. If he absorbed all the oxygen in the known universe, he still wouldn't make the time limit. Also: don't make fun of shane macgowan!

Want to understand for a country with the greatest weather in the world gets rolled by a country with the worst. Maybe the Brits are tougher? Explain it to an American.
When you have good weather you have more alternatives. Not only cycling, but swimming, surfing, sunbathing, BBQing, whatever:p
With rainy cold weather the best solution is to find a track (hence the Britain's collection of medals in track racing) or make a band and write good music!

:)

PS Shane is Irish and definitely doped:D
