That's funny. To me it seemed like Wiggins was perfectly motivated when SKY won the TTT on the 2nd day of the giro. He got demotivated as soon as he was dropped on the first climb of the race

But thats Wiggo on a TT bike and in phantom suit, it's like Valverde or Jrod on the last km of a tough climb.

Funny :D

You know the funniest part about this thread, is that the people who WonderLance is a parody of, are now all arguing he's a troll :D

We've been through this so many times before I'm sick of it. I'm not trying to make fun of people and I'm not a troll. I'm just a guy who happens to know a lot about cycling and loves watching the best riders in the world who happen to all ride for the same team at the moment.

I still don't get the 2018 mark. What's gonna happen in 2018? Papy Horner 3.0? Mohoric wins every single race in the calendar?

Obviously as you progress the marginal gains techique the returns become smaller each time, the allows others to get closer. combine this with gready riders leaving the team to chase big money on other teams (cav, rigo, dowsett) and i think you will see closer riding. Its like a few years back certain riders started reconing stages, weighing their food and picking the best team mates then everone started doing it and stole the team mates.

Obviously Frooome will still dominate the tour but we wont see Skys total control of the cycling callender like we have seen in the last two years.

I agree, Sky have revolutionised the sport of cycling. It's incredible how backwards some of the Spanish, Italian and French teams were until Sky came on to the scene. Obviously, as they begin to follow Sky's scientific approach (warm downs, washing hands, taking pillows to races), other teams are bound to close the gap. As an example, training camps in Tenerife were unheard of until Sky came on to the scene. Whilst the other teams were training in the freezing cold of the Alps every winter, Sky were training with the sun on their backs. Latest reports though suggest that just about everyone is training in Tenerife now. Still, whilst Sky's budget allows them to sign riders of the calibre of Froome and Porte, it's hard to see them losing their dominance for a few years at least.

Sky is only racing with their wallet and will probably implode. Ill counter this troll and be the first to predict cracks in Sky´s armour next year. Just hope Boasson Hagen leaves before the ship sinks.

Sky has shown that it is very good at dealing with internal leadership issues, and managing big personalities i think this is also key to their success.

Sky also cleaverly identified that riders like Boston Hagen are most suited to riding for a leader as they dont have the skill set to win races on their own. Other teams would have wasted his tallent trying to get race wins out of him.

We can all agree that team sky is without doubt the greatest cycling team in the last three deacade, able to dominate the entire cycling season from Feb to Novemeber with their own brand of attacking racing, brillant tactics and science.

But its key to analise the key reasons for their success which might not be so clear to some people.

1. Recognising tallent in untraditional areas like triathelon and track cycling. We all know know that Wiggos super tallent was evident in his track resuts but other teams were too short sighted to see this.

2. Developing young riders. The years of time and effort invested in riders like froome and Port is un parreleled in modern cycling and has enabled Sky to get unprecedented results.

3. SCIENCE!

4. Getting the best support staff. We all know that sky has the best people working behind the sceans to achieve top results, and best of all they are British!

And once again, WonderLance probably falls on the wrong side of history. YoU're like Ernest Shackleton with yoUr ship crUshed in ice, taking to a small boat looking for salvation in the roUgh seas. At once, I admire yoUr perseverance, fortitUde, and optimism. But I fear that this time, yoU won't make it to SoUth Georgia island. And even if you make it, yoU are likely to expire in the harboUr on a later date. It is a crUel world WonderLance. A crUel world indeed.

Endeavor on WonderLance. The crUshing defeat yoU mUst feel from Lance's demise may be assUaged by a bUnch of anorexic, pasty British transplants...Until the man behind the cUrtain is once again revealed.

This is off topic and I have reported it. I have never been to the arctic but I once saw a peguin in the zoo. I dont think they are real birds cos obviously birds fly and they dont. They smelt of fish and swim, so they might be fish.

Edit: I believe in English it is spelt HarboUr

Sky needs to spread their word of marginal gains to other cycling teams. After everybody starts putting their scientific approach to everything cycling into practice Sky will dominate the classics as well.

Sky doesn't have a lot of knowledge what riders are capable of. Henao did a terrific campaign till the classics, but they never let him send to the Giro, because he was already screwed. Due to that Giro, he was horrible in the second half of the season, same for Dombrowski and JTL (although i heard other rumours about that).

NO! This thread is about the legitimate success of the greatest cyling team in the world and I will not have it deflowered by paranoid hacks hiding behind their keyboards!

Lets talk about Science

Ok, So why don't you start us off talking about science. And sorry, the jesey thing doesn't count as all teams have jerseys for different conditions. Sky just feels the need to tell everybody about it so the gullible will think that is a reason for their sucess.

Which is running out now in my opinion.

Yes I agree Team SKY will continue to dominate the races that
matter because of their willingness to adopt and adapt new, or
new to the pro peloton, scientific strategies.

For example, instead of just having their DS shout into the race
radio or employ the klaxon of the team car, SKY has successfully
experimented with more productive auditory stimuli such as
music and/or sound frequencies via the race-radio ear-piece
to induce physiological responses that enable improved
athletic performance.

All teams have jerseys. YUp, except he spelled it gersey - which mUst be significant in some totally obscUre fashion that I have yet to Understand.

For any of the several posters who took, or will take, this thread serioUsly - it is not serioUs. It is satire. Read it and enjoy it for what it is. Since it is now leading to misUnderstanding, and a whole lot of other "mis"-this and "mis"-thats, I will close the thread as having rUn a decent coUrse.

And thank you for the lesson on using "U". So meaningfUl in so many deeper ways.

Too bad we can't figUre out some way to keep it from being mean-spirited and misUnderstood. BUt, the hUmoUr has kinda worn down anyway.

This soUnds dangeroUs to me. I've been told many times that yoU shoUldn't listen to mUsic while riding becaUse yoU will not hear the cars as well. I'd think that Britain woUld be extremely Upset if Froome were hit by a car dUring the ToUr and had to abandon. I bet that's what happened to Hoogerland in the ToUr a coUple of years ago. I bet Eye of the Tiger was blaring in his ear, and he failed to note the car coming aroUnd him, and that's why he was thrown into the fence.

Now, other noises might be better, bUt the rock and roll is a bad idea. Maybe they need to Use dolphin or whale noises? Or wind blowing throUgh the trees? Or rain on a tin roof? BUt the rock and roll is dangeroUs.

I'm betting they also Use ferns in their work-oUt space too.

I think we'd all appreciate yoU Using proper English when writing on this thread. Past that, I think Hiero2 realized the importance of this thread to the sUrvival of this forUm, and decided to let it breathe.

I think we can all agree that this topic deserves fUrther discUssion.
