If Cav doesnt go to BMC a certain posters repeated "BMC will have the WC for 2008,9,10,11,12 and 13" prediction look down and out.

Huh?

Not sure whats difficult too understand, ok im no journalist but ill try again....
Bradley Wiggins in my opinion WILL beat Andy Schleck, Ivan Basso and Samuel Sanchez in next years TDF.I am not however sure he will beat Cadel Evans and he definetly wont beat Alberto Contador(subject too Court of Arbitraions ruling allowing him too ride). My opinion is the same regardless of there being a low amount of TT kilometres as in the most recent edition or more kilometres as in days of yore.

Well with how next years route is turning out to be and Andy Schleck's reluctance or possibly inablitity to improve his tt , Brad certainly could beat Andy. basso will do the giro in 2012. Don't agree with you regarding Samu. Samuel has a decent tt and is a very good climber. Underrated rider.

I would bare my bumb in Burke Street (a street in Melb CBD). :D

is there any confirmed news on the route? what's the tt situation?

One possibly two long tt's. A hilly 30km tt in the area around Besancon and then a 50km tt around Lac de Vassiviere.

If that's true and there are that many time-trials and Bertie isn't there than Cadel will be a big favourite. Would certainly help Brad but not enough to beat Cadel chance of the others and would depend with Samu as with 70k of TT he could take up to 2 minutes of him altough as u said he's an underated time-trialist so it may well be less.

At least Wiggins goes for races even in March. And is not too ego to work for his team like in Algarve.

He earned a lot of plus points in my book by that. I rather have him win PN than Leipheimer or Valverde

Just popped in to say - Wiggins shape on his bike today was a sight for purists. His back was perfectly straight and horizontal for the entire 60kms I saw. Just so classic.

Carry on.

Wiggins = underrated rider. We all know he can TT better than almost anyone, but I bet you his climbing will be much better this year. Without Bertie at the Tour, the entire dynamic will change I think. Little Schlette will have to attack nonstop so he can have a 5 minute cushion in the TT. If he is constantly just trying to solo, and Evans stays in the group, Wiggins could have a real chance.

His climbing has to be almost as good as Menchov's and Menchov is considered a favorite.

He really does look in super form, in both stages so far. He was riding the entire front group of his wheel at times, and just looked so easy in doing it. I am starting to warm to him more and more, and Sky as well, now that they pay attention to races all year round. Roll on July and lets see what he can do...

Good to see Wiggins exploits in Paris Nice getting major coverage on the back page of one of Britains newspapers (gets none in the other ones I checked)

Unfortunately they think he's won the thing.

And Cav getting some space on the same page.

Was that the Guardian? Although a more charitable interpretation would be they have simply termed assuming the race lead as winning the yellow jersey, which would correct of a fashion

and it's not as bad as Hitch makes out, he did win the yellow jersey (for a day)

it was supposed to be a joke about how British news doesn't know anything about cycling, though I screwed it up.

Either way the major point was that its good to see cycling getting that kind of press in March. And Cav isnt even in the race:eek:

A few years ago such a thing would never have happened.

Menchov is history in the new era.

This guy's got class, worked his a*s*s off for Porte at Algarve (for Cavendish at the Worlds too) and barring any accidents he's going to win another major race.

We'll see, my main point was that he's capable if working his a*s*s off for a teammate, that's classy.

Definitely. I think people are putting too much faith in Wiggins' ability to take significant time out of Valverde in the Col d'Eze time trial. The profile isn't bad for Wiggins by any means, it's actually pretty good for him, but it's also very good for Valverde in terms of his ability to limit his losses (and I don't rule out the possibility of him beating Wiggins there either). Leipheimer is also a big danger of course.

Wiggins will need team support on Mende and in the stage to Nice and I have doubts about the current form of Porte, Uran and Sivstov.

Those 10-15 seconds he lost in the prologue due to the rain might ultimately end up costing him overall victory.

Not sure where that came from as I've always found Wiggo to be pretty respectful of his opponents? Anyway, yes it's going to be an interesting fight, I suspect Sky is going to be climbing that very fast, with Porte doing what Wiggo did at Algarve. Too bad Froome isn't there.
