And amazing Athletics and Golf coverages ? BBC is one of the best stations on world concerning sport that you don't need to pay for, maybe not cycling, but the other sports.

Waterloo Sunrise said:The bbc have absolutely no interest in sport, other than those engaged in by the quango classes.
Watching sky-sunday is great revision for the average family's 2 annual skiing trips.

I always got the impression Wiggins and Millar are a lot alike; both fun-loving and a bit too partyminded at times (Millar with the Cofidis days, Wiggins with the drinking), both prone to be a bit temperamental on the bike (bike throws on Angliru, at Contursi Terme and at Mendrisio), and prone to say the odd idiotic thing or get a bit carried away in the moment when doing well (the Champions' League is a TTT in the Tour of Qatar now?), but mostly pretty decent guys when you don't catch them at a bad time.MartinGT said:I went to the Netherlands last year to watch the Giro. Wiggins came accross as a bit of an @rse. The rest of the guys were spot on though.
Nielsa said:How is the British media treating the fact that Froome is in red? You'd think Sky sports would be all over this? What about the papers?
Andy99 said:There was about 3 lines under 'other news' in the sports supplement of a broadsheet daily that I looked at.
ParfaitAmour said:I have Sky news on in the background while I work, and there has not been a mention of the Vuelta or Froome/Wig today.
hatcher said:Or that he (and/or Sky) felt Chris Froome, the new leader of the Vuelta, deserved pride of place on the Team Sky website report. Good grief.
patrick767 said:Is Froome the new leader? He's ahead currently, but I don't know much about him. Does he have the climbing chops to compete for the podium in the tough mountain stages to come in a 3 week grand tour? I'm not seeing anything in the palmares of his short career to indicate he can do it.
All I know is that he was strong in the stage 9 MTF.
Midnightfright said:I suspect they will still keep Brad and and just leave Chris out of Dom duties for the time being. No definitive descion made yet.
Mambo95 said:It's time for some of the others to step up. Loftqvist, Zandio, Possini and Cioni can all climb a bit. Time to see them I think.
Swede1 said:I think Lofkvist will be good on the climb tomorrow and set temp until another team like liquigas takes it up to try to hurt Wiggins.

The Hitch said:The disgrace is that even during the Tour, there is nothing until the last day and then the news that Cav won the last stage and some guy from (insert country) won the overall is given 20 seconds AFTER a 2 minute report about the latest f1 crap.
So 1/17th or 18th or whatever of F1 is seen as significantly more important than the ENTIRE tour de France.
And they claim to have a bearers of impartiality. ****s.

boomcie said:+ 1 Hitchy boy. The total lack of cycling on BBC is a disgrace.
They are not neglecting, but ignoring the sport.

JRanton said:Road cycling, definitely, but when anything track related is taking place they're all over it like a rash. I'm sure I remember an open live thread as well as a live stream on the front page of the BBC Sport website for a track cycling ''World Cup'' event a few months back...
LugHugger said:No, they're not. Their track programming is very good.
The Hitch said:World what? Sky could give a **** about any sport other than football football football, cricket, football, darts football, football, football, rugby, football and football.
The programmes that play on so called sky sports news are called football today and football tonight.
One could go on and on about the stupidity of this channel, but its better to just save ones breath.

Mambo95 said:But BBC Radio 5 have been sending a commentary team to the Tour for years now. There's live commentary most days on 5 Live Extra and the website. They had a 90 minute preview programme too.
BBC TV don't show it because ITV own the rights and do a good job of it. Their highlights show gets very good ratings.
Saying the BBC ignore the Tour is BS, frankly.
The Hitch said:I never said they ignore it, might want to quote other people for that.
