I havent really ever been a massive fan of Wiggo. I was a little disappointed he jumped to Garmin to Sky after saying he wouldnt. But slowly he has grown on me.
I have been pleased with how he has seemed to relaxed with age and even over the passed year or so seems more chilled with the Media.

It seemed, to this unqualified psychologist, that until he won the Dauphine he didn't really believe in his ability to do so. Now he's going into races expecting to win. We're still to see how he reacts when adversity really hits, though today was a decent glimpse.

If you wanted climbing you got it today… except they had the pleasure of another 8Ks over a long false flat and rolling terrain to the finish. No BS about the lack of climbing. The profile misleads. Compute the rise over run and you get close to 10%. Someone posted it was officially 9.5%. The most adaptive and skillful of the talented won the day.
Wiggins does have the advantage of the pursuit background on the track and he applies it well to longer road TT.

Havetts said:The thing most people doubt is Wiggins over multiple cat1s/HCs. The dauphine he won he lost 1 minute to Rodriguez who was in peak form, 30+/- to Gesink & VDB who should be around the same form but not 100%. In the vuelta the Angliru stage he lost two minutes.
Thats why most of us 'doubters' are not calling him the winner already, the Toussuire stage this tour for example will be raced on an infernal pace and we'll have to see how Wiggo copes. The Joux Plane stage in the Dauphine will be a good indicator.
karlboss said:The stage profile may suggest it, but the context doesn't as GC won't be on the line unless Wiggins cracks completely.
The Hitch said:But how many such stages will there be? 2, 3 at most no?
tts he can get, on this form maybe 2 minutes out of even Evans. Hes not going to lose any on the flat, unless he crashes. If Voeckler can manage to keep with Cadel in the big mountains, I think Wiggins can too.
Havetts said:But then again, that stage will show how wiggins will do on a very tough multiple mountainstage this year.![]()

Richeypen said:That was the same stage where he put time into Evans who went on to win the tour. And you neatly gloss over the stage the next day which included the Croix de Fer and La Toussuire where he finished with the favourites.
As for the Angliru he lost 1.20 not two minutes on one of the hardest climbs in the world two weeks after coming back from a broken collarbone. In fact he put time into Jrod, VDB, Mollema, Nibali etc. (I notice that you aren't mentioning the two MTFs where Wiggins ripped the field to shreds)
