After skimming through the clinic threads I'll still post my response here because I feel like I have nothing to add to a doping-related discussion and my main grievances with his remarks are not doping-related.

Random anonymous people on the internet suck. I should know, I am one. They say stuff they can't back up. For the people who are being accused (regardless of the nature of the accusation), that must be difficult to bear at times (regardless of whether said accusations are true or false). They can ignore it but that's probably not easy. However what they must absolutely not do is sink even lower than the level of an anonymous twitter-user. It's just disgraceful, especially for a maillot jaune. In any decent internet community people get banned for that kind of language, and rightfully so.

So when you get asked a question like that at a press conference, you compose yourself and you say something like "You can never convince anyone" or "As a professional, you've got to have a thick skin". Then you go backstage and you tell your DS all about what stupid w*nkers they are. But you don't go on rants analyzing random peoples lives and calling them every obscenity in the book ...

Wouldn't you be annoyed if people accused you of doping without ANY evidence ?

*talking to everybody here*

I would...

Everyone would I assume! My opinion is that you express your annoyance in private and don't, in return, accuse people of having commitment issues and low bone marrow without any evidence! It may be true but for me it is sinking a level below your accusers and a professional should refrain from it.

****·er (wngkr)
n. Chiefly British Vulgar Slang
1. A person who masturbates.
2. A detestable person.

does that include women?

No women are never refered to as ****ers.
And people who hit wiggins up directly on twitter fall into category 2 (and possibly category one, but its unrelated). In contrast people who discuss doping in less personal terms and dont aim it directly at wiggins don't deserve that sort of treatment.

I see Brad from time to time at Rufford Marina during the winter, I'll have a quiet word with him and straighten all this mess out ;)

Thanks. By the way did you know that.... "Liverpool born Jonny Marray was offered a massive cheque to sport 'The Sun' patches in his doubles final, he told them to get stuffed"

Sky must be delighted by the fact that he attacked with that sentence a quite large share of their subscribers( proudly including myself by the way, but don't worry Rupert i'm not going to call of my contract) . :D:D

Back to the serious stuff, i think that this kind of interviews prove that Wiggo is really nervous, a nice incentives for rivals to attack him even more.

+1 particularly if you are earning a few million riding a bike for a living. I have no problem with sportmen earning that amount of money, but if they want that level of reward they have have to take all the comments that comes with it both on and off the bike. The concept of role model to the next generation seems to be missing with a lot of top sportmen.

They wont be losing any subscribers in the UK. Cycling still barely rates a mention.

I think you are right about him being nervous, if he doesn't put a minute into Evans and Nibbles tomorrow I think that will increase.

Who isn't nervous during a Grand Tour? Even Contador is still nervous during one I think. Of course some deny it, but that doesn't make it true.

That'd require having some brains. But you know, upper body mass is considered as a useless load for a pro cyclist.

We need to go back to the old days when we had role models like Master Jacques leaving his missus for her daughter and Pantani killing himself with coke.

I think the bloke's a f*cking w*nker himself. And he's got the nerve to say that he's winning at his old age by having kicked the booze and by losing 20 pounds.

I think I'm becoming a hater. Just can't stand arrogant people. And, again, there's no way that Sky are doing what they're doing this season without being doped to gills.

Today Bob Roll said Wiggo had a 'Zen Like' quality...well if anyone wants him rattled just tweet him a doping message LOL!!!

IMO he behaved like all the names he called others.....totally Unprofessional...
