Seems like Wiggins has done the impossible - replace Cav as the board's most talked about and hated rider.

He must have a few people worried.

I don't hate Wiggins just like I don't Andy. I seriously doubt though that Wiggins could entertain me with such consistency the way Andy does. Wiggins is a bit of the arrogant, smug type while Andy sometimes just seems rather clueless while at the same time possessing a sense of entitlement that combines into a wonderful stew of comical absurdity.:D

x2!!! Andy is the type of guy that almost everyone can meet and have good time and smile a lot about the dumb thinks that he must do all the time (I think). But I did not think this about wiggins, the arrogant.

Thing is that whilst Cav does a lot which you can take as negative and criticise Wiggins outside of cycling you cant really criticise unless you really nit pick
(Hence this thread)

Cav is at least genuine - most of what comes out of his mouth is, for better or for worse, what he actually thinks. Yeah, he's an idiot sometimes, but at least he's honest.

Wiggins is one of those sportspeople who I just don't know whether they're saying something for the press or because they actually think it. It says a lot about him as a bike rider that if you said "Wiggins PR" I would think not of mud and cobbles, but of some BS concocted to "sell" to the public. Everything he says is publicity.

The overwhelming majority of his followers don't understand why he can't win the Tour despite winning the most stages.

I once had a friend tell me they put a fiver on him to win the Tour because the odds were so huge he thought the bookies had made an error. After all, "he's always winning the most stages, so it's only a matter of time" he said. Oh dear.

Could not have said it better myself :D

They are both made for reality TV. Andy is the clueless, emotional younger brother while Wiggins is the grumpy, opinionated, cynical older brother. I prefer Wiggins, throw in the old Cadel Evans pre 2010 and that would would be one entertaining show. The Blues Brothers ? Wiggins makes me laugh by being serious while Andy just makes me laugh. Cadel has become more conventional, the rough edges have disappeared for the moment. Still a healthy dose of the eccentric about him.

I prefer my cyclists with a bit of grit, & some character, even if it's one we can chuckle at *cough* Schleck *bangs chest*.

Better than being mediocre, surely shirley ?

No.

Theres a lot less you can critiscse Cav for outside cycling than Wiggins. Doesn't even compare.
