Why do you have to give him an italian name? we have enough dopers, thank you very much.

Good point Zam. Reminds me of another prominent poster who judges by nationality.

I just don't see the need for any nicknames when we already have Aldirto Clentador.

PS, Bertie won 15 (IIRC) KOM prizes during his first junior year.

Pps. Couldn't tt until he came under saiz' wing.:eek:

Won the U23 TT title at 18. His first pro victory was an ITT.

Has chosen doping teams and doping ds ever since.

He signed pro in 2003, he changed teams in 2007 and 2012. Can you do me a favour and list the cleans teams he had a choice from? Ones that were guaranteed a start at the tour? I'll kick it off for you with AG2r. It probably ends there.

I know that he won the spanish title.

Doesn't mean one needed to be a good TT on the international level to win one.

You have absolutely no proof to back up that claim. C'mon show me the evidence that Contador is only good because of doping. Show me that he doesn't have any talent. Sorry Big Dopie but you can't. Sucks for you.

We both know he won the 2010 TDF, the 2011 Giro on talent and every other thing he wins is on talent. Big Doopie's illogical assessments of Contador's abilities are just ingrained cognitive distortions not worth sweating over. AC is the best cyclist of his generation!

The sad thing is that you are serious

Well maybe we'll find out soon what a clean(er) Contador looks like and have some basis for comparison.

But only if Bertie stops wanting to hang out with Pepe...

Pathology of a FOOL in denial.

- He doesn't dope. You have to PROVE it to me.

- Ok, he got caught doping, so, they all do it, so it's an even playing field. He would of won anyway.

This only becomes valid if they are all clean. Personally, he has a "class" that belies innate talent. Say what you want, but the guy provides emozioni and spetacolo.

Cheers, I will.

I'll say he dopes to win tours. Just like Lance.

but the guy provides emozioni and spetacolo.

The same could be said of Froome.

Whether the emozioni are positive or negative depend on all sorts of things......not all of which are objective or reasonable.

The never ending debate about whether or not Contador and Froome are doping or will have doped in preparation for the TDF will never be resolved in the Clinic.

The ONLY way this issue gets resolved is through mandatory UCI rules of transparency about a cyclist's bio-marker data. This means disclosure by the athlete and independent testers of testing results of the data. Everything. This data in turn is then published on a specific UCI website for that purpose every week. It should be a condition of getting a UCI license.

Otherwise this thread is just spinning its wheels after 2,430 posts no matter how "logical" or "persuasive" both sides to the argument make it's points.

Cycling continues to be at a crossroads. It will be forever the most celebrated "tainted sport" or not. So far there is no persuasive evidence it is clean. Every race is suspect. It is pretty boring to watch a race when one just doesn't know if it is clean or not. I find myself being indifferent. And I don't want to be because cycling really can be a beautiful sport. So I watch half-heartedly but with little enthusiasm.

A ton of people will still go to the TDF but I suspect more to party than to really care about the cycling.

Well then, I'll say the same: Froome dopes to win tours.
