Yes I believe the BPP was designed in theory to be able to detect when you reinfuse your own blood. But the parameters for a positive are set too high to minimise legal challenges and delays. This gives wiggle room for blood manipulation.

But I think AC has been sufficiently scared by the propect of a life ban for a second offense that he's backed off and we are seeing the results in his less impressive performances since the 2011 Giro.
