Sky's PR nightmare is having Froome just barely beat Contador at the Tour, and then have AC get taken down on a positive test.

It'd be hard to put a price on that kind of entertainment.

Now that would be fun.

Sergio/Ciclismo2005, a Contador fan? LAAAAAAAL :D

Compared to him, both BYOP88 and me regularly throw our underwear at Contador while we squeal hysterically.

Yup. Saying Sergio is a Contador fan is a bit like saying TheHog is a Skyboyt.

I am certain Contador is back on the dope, and I am sure everyone here is certain as well (even his biggest defenders).

When do you propose Contador was completely off the dope?

It's unfortunate that Contador didn't play the Stephen De Jongh card effectively.

He could've claimed that finally gaining access to Sky's revolutionary training techniques are what have restored his super powers (all while clean, of course. No need to dope under such programs).

Then what would the Sky response be if Contador beat Froome?

There's a difference between Sky and their fans.

Sky themselves don't accuse anyone. They claim the sport is clean, Froome is paisans with Vino and Contador etc, everything is good everything is clean thats why sky win.

Their fans on the other hand including Walsh are the ones who accuse others of doping and don't neccesarily believe everyone is clean. But those people are totally beyond logic, their the ones Brailsford targets with **** like - we know Sky don't dope because they don't attack.

There's no game to play with them. No matter what happens their position will always be that Contador is doped and Froome is clean.

One might look at Contador's comeback vs say Basso's comeback vs Sastre's races post tour win vs Evans post Tour win vs Wiggins post tour win. Hypothesising that these riders took no risks after they made it big, or on their return and say Contador wasn't doping in 2012 and 2013, or at least in a more limited fashion. The drop would appear to be (in the days of biopassport) GT winning/contending to 4-10 and riding for a high placing.
My personal view is that the bio passport scared everyone clean(er) only limited risks were taken. The in 2011 doctors started managing bio profiles, to maximise benefit but minimise the changes, ie consistent micro dosing but maintaining an upward trajectory. If this trajectory doesn't taper at some point questions get asked. For all Sky's "science" I think all we are seeing is they started one season, or part of a season earlier. Which is now why all the other big money teams are catching up. I'd say 2014 BMC finally got on board.
With this in mind I'd argue one possibility is that Contador went the low risk approach in 2012 won the Vuelta so stuck with it, 2013 exposed it wasn't enough to win the Tour, and since tour 2013 has started the incremental improvements program. There are some holes, but it's one idea, and not new.
Completely off the dope? when he was 13...maybe.

Sounds like an accurate appraisal to me.

How many 13 year olds can afford drugs? I highly doubt any cyclist, except for somebody from a wealthy background (I hear those farms in Kenya are worth a fair bit), would have had the means to have started doping a good decade or so before turning pro.

Not to mention Contador only started cycling 2 years later

Good points all. But why is it we always have to assume that after a spotty couple of years and then some recovered success it is due to doping. AC has always been a great GT rider. Are you saying he has been juiced from the beginning and that is the only reason he has ever won? I just don't buy that.

With respect that viewpoint just underscores the degree of cynicism on the Clinic who are full of doubters about anyone. This is the most negative blog in blogosphere. If you go to the AC Discussion Thread in the Road Racing Forum there is not this degree of negativity.

Maybe I am being naïve and maybe Bruyneel has the goods on AC for 2009, but then again who would trust anything Bruyneel has to say. He is a Weisel.

Better at Twitter than Cycling is Danny Pate.

Ummm.....going in order of bolded. Yes. See Armstrong, all those years, no positives. We've had enough riders tell us now how they do it and get away with it. The testing is no better today, and done right, you can race doped and get away with it. So from the start, likely.

There is a reason for the cynicism, too much has come out to show/prove that the UCI, commissions etc have done far too little and have advanced not very far (see passport program, joke of the decade) as more evidence of ability to dope and not get caught.

Did you read what you wrote, Bruyneel....enough said with that right? Armstrong, Schlecks, Contador, the list goes on and on of people that were busted for something under his reign, then the USADA documents from riders straight up accusing him, still waiting for that result. So somehow Contador was the only rider under him that didn't dope??? Come on.

As far as Danny Pate. So how many people here in the clinic even made it to a local Pro rider level? Mostly none. Respect for these guys that make it to UCI, and now that he is clean (assuming), at least he can hang with the peloton, pretty much 99.9% here would be off the back in 5 miles from the start.

Does this post serve any purpose besides baiting a certain user?

I would be interested in knowing if he thinks Contador is cleans too. Froome, Horner and maybe Contador, the new clean generation.

After dealing with death threats over the last 24 hours from Contador fans it’s not that unlikely.

Yes seriously. And threats of rape, hopes that I’ll get cancer… the list is endless.

One more reason to anxiously wait for the moment when this idiot is finally removed, forever, from cycling.

How is it his fault if some of his fans act in that manner? Why blame him for the actions of others?

And how does she know they were Contador fans anyways?

She just needs to get in touch with the police and they'll deal with the matter.
