Dear Sittingbison & Netserk,
I wish to express my deep remorse and sincere apologies for derailing after 18 pages, this informative and important thread about wind which was started in my absence and has only been closed once.
I now regret posting a link to a Dan Martin quote that a user could not find.
It is no excuse, at the time I was young and naive and I believed I was assisting them by linking to a fact/quote - I now acknowledge doing so was against the spirit of this thread.
I was wrong. Forgive me.
Having viewed the picture - which in no way is personal, or shows bias, and is amusing and colourful - I now feel I have matured in that time.
Having reflected on it for almost 8 seconds it became apparent that when someone said that I was making false statements and deflecting that I was entirely to blame for requesting the poster to desist or that I would report it.
It was a moment of weakness.
I want to take this opportunity to thank you both.
You have not only saved this amazing thread which was oh so close to finding out the direction of the wind after a week and almost 19 pages, but you may have saved this poster too.
You should all feel proud of your timely, decisive intervention.
This goes beyond this thread (which BTW is fantastic & important), or even a cycling internet forum, what you espouse is the very fabric of humanity and a civilised society.
Your clear leadership, patience, sense of justice and ability to post amusing pictures is an inspiration to all that you moderate and gives hope in these dark days that will inspire future generations.
Thank you.
