pacing plan is good. But some riders can do this by feeling.
Of course a pacing plan is good. But a 70 part pacing plan is maybe a bit too much information to digest. And then it's quite funny to hear Milesi say that he didn't really pace himself, just went all out from the start.

Although actually, if you saw the way Milesi finished, it looked like he could have gone a bit faster.

What kind of rider is Segaert anyways outside of a brilliant TT'er? Some Küng/Asgreen type with a big engine who potentially can do well in classics?

Yes, I mean I think his 2nd place at nationals this year says enough. Wouldn't say he's a generational talent or anything, not sure if he will ever be as good as Kung, but he definitely has the talent to be more than just a TTer. Not super explosive ofcourse, but he can climb good for his weight and he's pretty good at interval races (so classics).

Segaert will likely have a better career on the elites than Milesi but another second place on the World Championships must surely hurt a bit.
Yeah, reminds me of Wout van Aert…

They are similar, anyways. Only difference is possibly that Segaert isn’t known to me as a cyclocrosser… ;-)

Fun fact: until tomorrow both Milesi and his GF Guazzini are technically u23 ITT WCs.

I do rate Milesi, he's got a Remco style background. Former football player who started cycling at the age of 16, after an ankle injury. 15 months later he was 2nd at the junior iTT NC, behind the one year older Piccolo, but ahead of the also one year older Tiberi, who won the junior WC ITT the same year.
Last year Segaert only lost 2 ITTs, one against Milesi. He also has good recovery, last year in the Tour de l'avenir (and one year earlier in the Ayuso baby Giro) he got better and better on consecutive mountain stages. Only 37th on the unipublic MTF, then 12th on the la Toussuire mountain stage while being the only domestique left in the race for Piganzoli and Fancellu and then he won the final mountain stage over the Iseran from te breakaway (by dropping Segaert uphill).

Women Juniors tomorrow over a whopping 13.5K.

Very little to go on as there's only really one TT during the season at Borsele in April, which was won by Izzy Sharp, who I think (?) was also the highest placed first year in Woolagong. But she was beaten by a minute (over 17K) by Cat Ferguson at the British Nationals, who could make up for the disappointment of finishing second in the road race. Apart from that, no idea. Venturelli, Knaven, or one of the US or Australian riders who don't tend to participate in the European races?

Wow that is short—shorter than the (cycle) “Tourists time trial” my local bike club used to hold every year.

I find it quite interesting that they have the Junior Men's ITT on the same day as the Elite Men's ITT, not the U23 ITT, or the Junior Women's ITT. Making the U23 ITT the only ITT race that gets a day of its own.
