He has teammates behind and just got immediately dropped as soon as it went up with 50k to go, after helping the massive race favourite and pulling through for the last hour. Wherever the order came from, he wasn't maximizing anything but Pogacar's chances of winning.

Teammates that have not looked great, both Gaudu and Bardet got dropped at least once and are currently only there because nobody is riding in the Remco group.
