This is a gift to MvdP. I still don't quite believe in Pog's attack, and Remco is screwed by his team disappearing.

Could also get a surprise winner here.

But having all this happen between 100km and 70km to go is completely insane even by today's standards.
Is it, though? The G2 dicking-around stuff is predictable. Pog can ride at a high rhythm for, near as I can tell, forever.

You would really think that if MvDP and Remco were smart, they would just be sitting in Pog's wheel the whole race or 3-5 wheels behind. I know it was an early attack but why take chances?

Pog made it a really hard race and it's been more than 200k already. Also they panic because it's Pogacar they are chasing,
Tratnik was a perfect satellite rider and it was probably the right move to go early from the other strong group. They wouldnt have worked hard to keep the gap.

Cherry on the cake is Sivakov being able to follow and able to work with him. They are managing their efforts in the front know. While it is chaos behind.

It is a masterclass in tactics and strength.

For no reason...
True probably
Believes this peloton will self destruct and there’s a silver in it. Could just sit on though
In today's cycling, it seems like everyone is still intimidated by the stars and has forgotten the power of the group. No one cooperates anymore. I remember the years when Cancellara would lose the cobbled classics, even though he was clearly the strongest, because the others cooperated against him.
Sagan has to watch this stuff and cry after how the whole
Peloton worked against him
