where are we going...
JTL has been performing like a club rider all season and BC wants to use him at the 272km hilly worlds RR event..

And instead of Cav bring some rider who can gain from the experience. Look to France for a bit of inspiration.

Cav may be used as a road captain as well as he trains in the area.

In Canada there were some flashes of form, admittedly very brief ones. I'm all for giving riders experience (Edmondson) but selecting Simon Yates at this stage is too big a step.

Simon,
hes young, but he will likely be in the race longer than Cav. Taking Simon would be the right decision and no harm done.

And JTL, well we can put him in the same group as Froome and Horner.

I think Simon seems commited to helping Adam. Besides it is very different riding L' Avenir/ sprint stages at the ToB (with little WT teams/ roads he has probably already rode on) to then ride in Italy, with the pros- in what is being deemed the hardest WC since in Colombia.

Edit: Did not notice that Yates came 6th today- sorry

Nobody will represent Hungary at the ITT because Gábor Fejes couldn't make it and all the other possible riders are either in the TTT (Dér, Kenyeres, Lovassy) or in the RR (Kusztor). It is too late now to arrange for an amateur that is not even in the top 5 Hungarian TT riders to come and ride in Florence, so unfortunately we won't be represented there.

Why cant those riders that are doing the rr or ttt do the itt as well?

Is Kiserlovski now not riding the road race? Anyone know? ProCyclingStats says he isn't.

Nope, Radoslav Rogina is his replacement, Kiserlovski cited nagging problems with his collarbone (crash last year TdF) as the reason for withdrawal... too bad rly, he showed some form at the end of the vuelta..

Disaster for team GB as pre-race favourite Jon Tiernan-Locke is ruled out through injury (although tweeted an hour ago about going for a box hill ride with well known cyclist Will Carling) and is replaced by Luke Rowe

Who cares! The great climber Mark Cavendish will crush everyone on the climb!

(Why the hell is Cav riding this)

He wants to repay a favour and carry bottles for Froome. He's not going to change the race but could be useful in the first 100k for chasing down breaks before they establish.
