Stigger wins! Great effort.

Nice to see the Canadian girl get a medal too as they both did the most work.

Yes, excellent win for Stigger. Did a good amount of the work in the select group too, I'm surprised she had enough left.

Really fun little race too.

Simply unbelievable, it's her 2nd road race and now she's MTB Word Champion AND Road World Champion

Super gemacht, Mädl :surprised:

Junior MTB champion and now road race champion, looks an exciting prospect.
The thing is, she actually doesn't have interest in road racing and doesn't plan to ride road races in the future. A bit underwhelming to hear that from someone who is now junior WC on the road but we will see. Maybe she changed her mind today

Exciting race, worthy winner, congrats to our Austrian friends here. On the other hand, that Igls climb done 7 times by elite men will make a tremendous natural selection.

It looks a nice climb and will definitely whittle down the group, however with that 3k wall to come on the final circuit it would be a crazy decision to go early, unless they’ve got a teammate or two up the road.

fun fact - Boilard (3rd place) had no idea who Stigger actually is.
Before the medal ceremony, Stigger explained to her, that she's also MTB Junior champ and that this was only her second road race.

Boilard had to smile, just a little bit :)

Gawd… I'm an emotional idiot.
Getting all teary-eyed because a person I'd never heard about before won…

Btw, did the German speaking - I assume local - speaker sound just a little bit more enthusiastic when he was presenting Stigger? Not that I can blame him.
