 No Thomas, but also no Froome in WCRR, dissapointing.

Really, that's a shame, I was hoping to see GT in the rainbow jersey.
I was hoping they'd at least show up to help the Yates twins

Who could support them

Kennugh
Tao
Hugh Carthy
Scott Davies
Cummings
Ben Swift

It looks like France is a true contender this time in mens race. They have 2-3 quality captains and 14-15 excellent support riders to choose. Lets' just say there is Kawasaki, Alaphilippe, Uran, Don Alejandro and Bardet escape gruppo in last lap..it's gonna be huge!

The Austrian selection for Innsbruck:

ITT
Brändle
Preidler

RR
Konrad
Mühlberger
Grossschartner
Pöstlberger
Gogl
Preidler

Which means no Denifl (logic), Zoidl (not so surprising) but more surprisingly no Pernsteiner. He would have deserved to be here :(
I guess such a team means it's all for Konrad. We'll see if such a strategic choice will lead to a nice result from him. I at least expect so!

Konrad was good in Canada so making him the leader makes sense but I don't see the necessity of Gogl and pöstlberger. Both will get dropped when the mountains start, Austria definitely doesn't have one of the favorites so they don't need them to control the race which means they have two riders whose only duty is to carry bottles? I think pernsteiner would have been the more reasonable choice.

A good few to ignore like Froome, Thomas, Dan Martin who for their various reasons are unlikely to hit the race in their best form which the odds do not accurately reflect.undefined

Froome and Thomas aren't even riding.

I think it's that classics pedigree barely matters and it almost completely boils down to pure climbing ability at the end of a horrific day.

I think don't agree at all with Kwiatkowski, Alaphilippe being that high, and similarly, I'd put Valverde much lower, cause he hasn't made the difference in a top end race on a hard climb in forever.

I think classics pedigree matters. For example. I would never, ever have believed in Froome even though he would ride in great shape. He just isn't a one day racer. Thats an extreme example since Froome probably is the worst rider in the peloton in one day races relative to stage racing, but you get the point..

And something more important: Who are going to Innsbruck? I have seriously considered going, and I would have had it not collided with some work I just have gotten. But I think its money and time well spent honestly and I would really love to go, but I guess I will have to wait for TdF in Copenhagen in 2021, lmao.

I'm going for sure, probably on the main climb to Igls

I'd love to go, but unfortunately I have my first day at University the next day. I mean it would theoretically still be possible but don't know how enjoyable an event like that is if you have to run to the train right after the finish.

A friend of mine lives in the Höttinger Gasse, where the final climb starts, so I'll probably be right there to watch the race.

Not a big fan of Belgium's U23 team. Lambrecht might be the top favourite and Crass is a good outsider, but their help is lacking. I thought they'd bring Vanhoucke, who has said he'd happily work for Lambrecht. The junior team on the other hand is flat out insane. It's a longshot, but gold and silver is not out of question with Evenepoel and Van Wilder. Vervloesem is able to ride a good result for himself too. Still, getting past Vacek will be a big challenge, and regarding depth, the Italians will bring a very good team as well.
It's Evenepoel's to lose though. If he doesn't ride like a horse's ass it's difficult to see even Vacek beat him. But if he rides like he did in Italy last week, that's surely possible. Team tactics have to be on point (and followed), don't do all the work himself, allow Vervloesem or Van Wilder their moment in the sun (and risk not winning on their behalf in order to put the other teams to work)... It should be a tough race, and that should always be in his favor. But the other riders know by now, they just need to try and stay in his wheel, don't take turns, and beat him in the sprint (or the final climb). Let's hope he's aware. Can't see anybody beat him in the ITT though.
Not sure if the U23 team is supposed to be one of the favorites. I could see Lambrecht do well, not sure if he really needs many helpers to have a shot. He has the advantage of also being able to win a bunch sprint of whoever makes it over the final climb. I think we'll get at least two medals, one being gold (Junior ITT).

That's Spain's long list, not all will participate. I don't expect Landa on the final list due to his injury.

Wish I could go, but no money and now even less due to the Hurricane. Can't work as we are now under a mandatory evacuation so no pay since I'm not working. (Not having a passport is another issue with going to this year's Worlds.)

Some very good value in that odds list. Dan Martin should not be the top favorite, but 33-1 for a Liege and Lombardia winner who was one of the best climbers at the Tour?

Maybe for the weak team? He’s really only going to have Roche and Dunbar.

Heck why not go with Sepp Kuss at 500-1. No I don't think he has a shot, but those look like good odds for someone who can at least climb.
