The winning team last year.

Doesn't mean it can't be improved and Kwiatkowski has a much better record at ITT (Top-8 finishes in all 7 of his ITT's this year).

However, I have argued previously that some people are better at TTT than ITT, and Boonen's attributes of size (covers team-mates from the wind) and a quick finish are big factors in this difference. So maybe you are right but I wouldn't say the change from Boonen to Kwiatkowski will be much of a loss.

Boonen isn't exactly your typical hide hide hide sprint for the win guy. He has a big motor. A guy like Cav or Kittel isn't going to go out and win Roubaix or Flanders like Boonen can. Besides that you can hide 3 other riders behind Boonen. Hell you could stack 3 Cav's on top of each other and they'd still get a draft behind Boonen.

Then the BMC line up is out: Cummings, Oss, Phinney, van Garderen, Schar and Quinziato. I am a little surprised Pinotti is left out and Hushovd as well, but I am no expert just a regular fan. But Pinotti should have been in there in my opinion.

Very strange!

Dropping Hushovd from a TTT just shows how little the BMC management knows of cycling. It was actually a big goal for him and he's one of the best riders in the peloton for TTTs.

What a stupid decision by BMC management to not include Pinotti and Hushovd, they made the same mistake with Hushovd in the Tour. I'd like to hear their reason for not selecting them, I don't recall either of them getting injured or anything like that recently?

Instead of investing in some new riders this transfer season, they should invest in some new management that actually knows something about cycling. They select the wrong riders for the big races far too often.

Lancaster would be my pick but they've got some great options and should do well. It'll be a great contest, with OGE, Sky and OPQS all bringing great teams. Shame Sky don't have Wiggins though as then it really would be the A-teams of Sky, OGE and OPQS going against each other and would be very difficult to pick a winner.

OGE's A team would have O'Grady:(

Why??? They have plenty of excellent prologue riders and former pursuiters. O'Grady is good yes, but OGE have better.

O'Grady can't ride anyways.
Your'e right about the great options but O'Grady is a very successful rider in TTT's/ i think he was referred to as a big engine in the TDF TTT- in their plan.

BMC's team was questionable, but apparently they have been training hard for the TTT. Van Garderen sounds like he's motivated to make up for his mistake last year.

"He jumped in and right away his 20min effort was top notch," Taylor Phinney added. Together with Michael Schär, Daniel Oss, Steve Cummings and Manuel Quinziato, the team has been training hard on the course’s lone obstacle, the Serravalle Pistoiese, which comes 7.3km into a 57.2km race.

"We did the climb five times yesterday," Phinney said. "It's early enough that no matter how fast we go we're not going to blow everybody up. Everything we've done this year has been very calculated. That comes from the performance side of things with Julich and Healy. We have a good plan for the first part of the race, and then the second part is about being smart and communicating."

Team Sky with a solid team.

Edvald Boasson Hagen
Chris Froome
Vasil Kiryienka
Richie Porte
Kanstantsin Siutsou
Geraint Thomas

Not a winning team, but maybe they can reach 3rd spot in the podium.

If I'm not mistaken, this will be Vande Velde's last race as a proffesional cyclist.

I'll miss him. Too bad he has had so much bad luck since 2009. :(
Then again, he had a lot of " luck" until that point.. So probably he is not a guy you have to feel very sorry for.
