CNN Breaking News -- "U.S. House OKs a nearly $59 billion emergency spending bill, the bulk of which would go to Afghan troop buildup."

I'm not American but...jeez...will the screwing over of the US taxpayer EVER end?!?

Our Government will spend approximately $1,400,000,000,000 MORE than it takes in in the form of revenues THIS YEAR. Does THAT help answer your question? About $400 Billion of the $800Bn. Emergency stimulus money approved 17 months has not been spent, despite that it was an emergency. At the time, it was sold to us on the basis that if we/congress didn't approve it, unemployment would go over 8%. After it was approved it went over 10% and now hovers just below 10% and almost all hiring is being done by government, not private businesses. The corruption by both parties has finally hit home with the people. In November we will have mid-term elections (all 435 members of congress two years terms will be up as well as 1/3 of the 100 Senators' 6 year terms), I have no idea of the outcome, but I can guarantee it will not resemble any mid-term that any living person can remember.

This is going to be seismic.

I hear David Vitter and Joe Barton won't have any problem being reelected

I heard a quote once...."The good thing about democracy is that you get what you deserve. The bad thing about democracy is you get what you deserve".

The American people only have themselves to blame.

Diaper Dave..Typical Conservative.. Not wrong until you are caught or someone finds out.

""Brent Furer, the aide to Sen. David Vitter (R-LA) who allegedly cut his girlfriend with a knife during a 2008 altercation and has had other run-ins with the law, has resigned after ABC reported on his criminal record, the AP is reporting.

The AP says Vitter "accepted" Furer's resignation.

The move raises the question of why Vitter would accept Furer's resignation now after keeping him on payroll for the roughly 30 months since the incident occurred.

Is this a request for a list of liberal lawmakers who have acted on a par with this conservative, or are you looking for the ones who have done worse?

Republicans are ALL deviants and hypocrites ...they are deep closet gays and wear diapers to brothels, go to third world countries to indulge in child prostitution and worse..They are chosen for these reasons. Their loyalty is never in question to the ones who know their secrets. Their supporters are much the same or wish they were..Joe Schmoe dittohead from California would love to feel the same kind of power his republican heroes do when they pay to abuse 9 year old children in the Mariannas..

except for one thing.. All the republicans talk about their family values and their "real" americanism,, and how God forgives them when they are caught..and how dare you question their morals(before they get caught)..."the good people" as opposed to "those people".....They dogwhistle their ssses off and you eat it up with a fork in each hand and come back for seconds. Their plan has always been to keep you occupied while they steal the kitchen sink and they do it perfectly.

I have heard plenty of democratic politicians claim family values and God's direction. To make the claim that all Republicans are amoral deviants and much worse than democrats, you clearly are both extremely bias (something you are claiming is a sole Republican character trait since it is also a form of hypocrisy) and lacking in basic understanding of human nature, particularly as it relates to politics.

""all Republicans are amoral deviants "" that pretty well sums it up..

And your complaint is that the Republicans are intolerant and label those who disagree with them as evil, it is interesting that you would resort to the tactics you claim represent the Republicans with your being a good liberal and all.

You were not talking about conservatives, you were talking about Republicans. First of all there are a lot of differing Republicans and there as differing definitions of conservative as well.

I assume that you are aware that the majority of media supports Democrat and liberal ideology through donations and directed content. As for radio media, I have driven a few long distance miles and had the opportunity to hear plenty of liberal radio commentary, some content goes past liberal and openly supports socialism and outright communism.

The mythical Liberal media??????Are you going to start crying?
Republicans are so far right they are pointing down..anything left of right leaning moderate is socialism and communism. Liberal radio is rare and then tame..But most major markets are dominated by Rush, Beck ,Hannity Savage, Bortz, Nugent Liddy and the list goes on and on..Name one Liberal radio talker. People who don't even pay any attention to any of it are saturated by the shear volume of the right. There is no left wing btw..the people who sit on the left side of congress are not leftists even though Hannity tells you they are.

Actually the Democrats are the new Republicans. Obama's healthcare plan looks exactly like the plan the Republicans put up as an alternative to Clintons plan. Obama's war strategy is pretty much a seamless continuation of Bush's plan with the same people running it. His education plan is more or less identical to the plan Republicans have been hawking for years (more charter schools and less teachers union) and the Wall Street bailouts under Obama had only trivial adjustments from the Bush bailouts.

So why are so many Republicans calling out Obama as a Socialist and Communist for espousing policies they themselves supported in large numbers just recently? Because while the Democrats evolved or devolved (depending on your viewpoint) into what used to be known as Country Club Republicans the GOP was taken over by a collection of Dixiecrats, Birchers, Religious fundamentalists and militia kooks. To them Dwight Eisenhower, **** Nixon and Nelson Rockefeller would have qualified as Commies.

Amy Goodman
Philip Maldari & Aimee Allison
Mitch Jeserich
C.S. Soong and Sasha Lilley
Caroline Casey
Davey D, Anita Johnson, and Weyland Southon
Dennis Bernstein

I could name a lot more...

The commentators on KPFA out of Berkeley are not labeled as socialist and communist, that is what a number of them have labeled themselves. I happen to catch their broadcasts every once in a while in the central valley through their repeater out of Fresno. I tend to enjoy listening to what the extreme left says (entertainment value) as least as much as I do the far right.

Amy Goodman?...wow.. what a radical.. never heard of any of the others.
Were you part of Wally George's audience?

Berkeley???? are you serious???? That stuff barely reaches beyond Berkeley whereas the right wing hate machine is coast to coast. The right is more right than the leftEst part of Berkeley and there are thousands of those around the country to serve the dittoheads and other republican ftards.

The left coast arguments must reach out there, at least far enough to catch your attention.

The point is you'd have to dig to find progressive talk radio everywhere but within Berkeley range..Everywhere else people talk about Rush's or Hannity's latest poutrage when they don't even know where it came from. It could be anything or nothing at all.

Reagan never did get his "bloodbath" at Berkeley did he? He moved on to Philadelphia Mississippi eh?
