Yes, just found. Doesn't feel fit any more. That went fast. :D

Press conference.
- Good spirit and much fun in the team
- Greipel "long ago since a German became Worldchampion..." Tony Martin interjects and causes big laugh in the pressroom "actually..me" :)
- teamplayers blabla
- Hondo not sure about Kittel and Degenkolb, but says they earned their place for sure
- Italians say that the Germans are machines
- Germans think that Gilbert will be the biggest favorite, and hope Mr.2011 will show his weakest performance of the season
- Greipel thinks finish is tough, but not sleepless because of that

German team:

André Greipel (Omega Pharma Lotto)
Tony Martin (HTC Highroad)
Bert Grabsch (HTC-Highroad) und
Christian Knees (Sky),
Andreas Klier (Garmin-Cervélo),
Danilo Hondo (Lampre-ISD),
Marcel Kittel (Skil-Shimano) und
John Degenkolb (HTC-Highroad)
Marcel Sieberg (Omega Pharma Lotto)

Well, Bjorn Leukemans said Gilbert is very very strong at the moment. :D

... DeAumere avg close to 60km/h for the last 300m, this is still a sprint and not an anaerobic affair so Cavendish should have a shot...
I think a sprint IS an anaerobic affair. A sustained effort, on the other hand, would have to be aerobic. Thank you.

I would say that's a typo and he meant "an aerobic". That's the only way I can make some sense out of his post at least.

Anyway, Gilbert has been unbeatable whenever he wanted this season. That's the only reason I still rate him. Watching some actual racing on the course, makes you think that are a lot of other competitors much more suited to this. IMO, the old Freire would eat them alive. So would the future Sagan:D For now it's all about who can fill the gap. Hmm...

Much as I would love Cav to win am just not convinced it is going to happen. he has a fairly large (compared to last year) and strong team to support him just think the distance and pressure from other teams will be too much.

I see several teams animating, couple of teams chasing back hard, and a Norwegian sneaking it at the line. Which one i am not sure.

Pretty much how I feel.

Except I think it will be Thor.

That said, Cav can do the distance no bother.

But, compared to MSR 2009, making the distance will not be a surprise.

I hope Brad turns up prepared to race and do all he can for Cav, i deffo read an interview where he said he had made the promise.

If all of GB commit to riding for Cav then who knows...

I'm in the ABC camp - anyone but Cav.:p

The finale is probably not hard enough for Gilbert to make his usual difference, so I'd be perfectly happy to see Thor, for example, prolong the jersey he wore with such distinction this year - unless he's agreed to help EBH try to grab the rainbow.

Nice gaff here in Copenhagen. £7 a pint.

Gonna be an awesome, if expensive weekend..

LOL

And to think Swedish kids cross the bridge for cheap drinking :)

Have a good weekend - hoping there is something to celebrate on Sat or Sun - preferably both!!

Putting national bias aside I do think the uncertainty about who the finish suits and GB putting a decent team in will make for a brilliant race. Hopefully...

Worlds has not disappointed last two years :)

Just noticed something:

Copenhagen has hosted the WC 4 times already. In 1931 an Italian won, but all the other races were won by a Belgian :D

And with "I just noticed something" I mean I read it in the newspaper :)

See, in principle I should find myself in the ABC camp, but with a course like this, the A becomes too literal. At least Cav has the pedigree, but what if someone like Feillu, Bozic or Rojas wins? Most people don't have any problems with any of these riders, but if any of them won it would be like super lame.

Maybe you can join the ABS (Anyone But Sprinters) camp? I don't see Gilbert or Cancellara winning though in saying that because of how flat it is I think Cancellara has more chance of getting away than Phil. I guess I will barrack for those guys & the Aussies although my tip for the rainbow jersey is Andre Greipel. I think it would be so funny seeing Greipel wipe the floor with Cav because Greipel only wins 'small ****ty races'.

I think Greipel is a really good pick also. The finish suits him perfectly, and he has a dominant team.

I'd like to see Cancellara drop Gilbert on a flat part though ;)

I think Phil can suck his wheel without getting in trouble. But I hope Phil waits for the sprint anyway.

I think Cancellara can actually. Gilbert is not the superman on the flat that he is on the hills. In the classics cancellara can drop riders easily on flats.

No mistake, an anaerobic affair needs to last longer. For example 100-200m sprinters focus purely on speed, while 400m runners already do a lot of intense anaerobic work. The whole climb was done by DeAumere in 30s, thats just the point when you start to feel it, Cav should be able to do it in less.

But cancellara is much stronger than gilbert on the flats.

flats.. when was the last time canc. stormed away from the peloton in a non-cobbled race....? Paris-Roubaix =/= copenhagen rr.

Meanwhile Gilbert does it every second race.

Not saying canc can't, but gilbert has been doing it all season, in all kind of races. So if one of them were to win, I'd put my money on gilbert.

SBS is not as broke as you think. Live from 11:15 on Sunday for the Elite men. Anything else is streaming on cycling central or Eurosport on pay tv

Which is what I thought, but appears I missed out on some news. I blame SBS none the less with their faulty advertising. Only found out today SBS was rebroadcasting after their LIVE stream which is earlier. I will simply stay away from this site if I don't get a LIVE stream. Cheers and also @Tuarts. Thanks.:D

Live stream is all I've got! ****ing SBS shafting WA again for "live" coverage. So much for trying to address the issue, guess we got an answer to that! Just hope my bandwith holds...
