I think with around 14km to go Brambilla is off the front, with about 30 seconds. Navardauskas and Sieberg probably the most dangerous in the chasing group.

edit.. Brambilla 38 seconds clear with 5k to go. Looks like the chasers aren't working well together.
Of course not. Trentin's in the group, they don't want to tow him to the line without tiring him out first, and he is happy to sit on knowing he can outsprint them if they catch Brambilla, which they probably won't... although I probably spoke too soon looking at the new time gap.

Brambilla wins. Good to see a long range attack hang on.

Not quite sure how he managed to hold off such a strong group with just 10 second advantage 2km out. Must have been some messing about with the chasers.

Looking forward to seeing the highlights of this. Apart from Brambilla, the top 10 bears little resemblence to the updates that were given in the last 10km.

Cancellara finished sixth. Looks like he could be in for a very strong classics season if he's in decent form already.

Canc doesn't have problems being in good form for the classics. He just needs to stay healthy and not crash.

Normally, yes. But given the recovery he would have needed from the Vuelta crash, I'm surprised he seems to be at such a high level already. Thought he'd be a bit behind the rest having gone over four months with no racing and limited training.

Last three winners of tomorrow's race start tomorrow, so Nordhaug, Kwait or Valverde?
Is tomorrow's race harder than the race today?

Much so:
