Contador - GC TTT
Wiggins - Road captain/GC back up/TTT/TT/prologue/super domestique/sprint train
Smydz (sp?) - mountain domestique
Quintana - mountain domestique
Cancellara - TT/TTT/prologue/flat domestique
Sagan - green jersey/up hill sprints/stage hunter/prologue/sprint train.
EBH - super dom/stage hunter/sprint train TTT
Thomas - general dom/TTT/sprint train
Cavendish - Sprinter

Looking to take GC, green jersey, all the sprint stages, any kind of TT stage, at least half of the mountain stages - and depending on how Sagan/EBH are feeling maybe some of the transitional/medium mountain stages too.

And as an added bonus you get the potential for massive 2009 Astana shenanigans as well.

Vino attacks everyone said:
Vino in his prime >> Wiggo any day

Wiggo vs AC in this years tour, who knows?

My logic is flawless :p

Wiggo couldn't handle one Vino attack, much less his usual 20 per race :p.

I can't think of only 9 riders, but after watching this years Tour I would definitly pick Knees. That guy is just amazing. Oh and Lars Bak too, they are pretty much the same type of rider (Bak maybe a slightly better climber perhaps, they both have top20 or nearby in a GT) but two are always better than one.

So I have to put nine names together?

Contador for GC.
Cavendish for sprints, with Renshaw leading him out.
LL Sanchez and Gilbert for stage hunting.
Cancellara as road captain and if there's a TTT.
Froome, Basso and Cobo as super domestiques for Contador in the mountains.

any dream gc team needs cancellara and klodi and even popovych when he is at his errrr best :S

klodi is a must have though he can be the backup plan and he doesnt seem to care much about being a leader so he is a great helper

klodi and popo might be a bit past their sell by date though

Based on the rumoured 2013 TDF (all round rider)

Team Leader
Miguel Indurain

Climbing Domestiques
Marco Pantani
Federico Bahamontes
Alberto Contodor
Robert Miller

Flat Domestiques
Fabian Cancellara
Jens Voigt

Free man to win stages
Eddy Merckx

Sprinter
Robbie McEwen

McEwen is in over Cavendish simply on his ability to win stages without a lead out train. I'm thinking I have pretty strong team... What do you think?

Who'd have thought Contador would be your team leader?:p

Not a bad team though, shame the leader is so far past his best :D
