    Vino Comeback Thread

If Vino truly is going to retire after the TT I predict it will be heavy rain during the race. The gods (not only of cycling) will be weeping during his last race. Fantastic race and career by Vino. I am almost crying as I write this. You know the same sort of cry when you witness some...

    Tour De France Betting Odds

Tony Martin to win the tour at odds 58. Pretty interesting IMO. Lots of tt in this years tour. But will he continue to have some bad days in the mountains or has he gotten more mature? Now he is on a new strong team without any sprinters. I think I will place a bet on Tony Martin.

    New co-sponsor for Saxo Bank

Anfi Group will be a new co-sponsor for Saxo Bank Sunguard after the 2012 Vuelta according to Danish newspaper Ekstrabladet. The amount of money is not known, but it will be an increase of the budget. The Anfi Group CEO is cited for saying that he imagines that the new name will be Saxo Bank -...

    Rabobus

I sure hope Matti will win one of the classics this year. I hope it so badly. I agree that he should also have ridden Roubaix because he is one of the best in that race. But on the other hand it will be very interesting to see how he does in the hilly classics. I think he will do very well. He...

Dwars door Vlaanderen - Waregem 2012

Why isn't Matti Breschel of Rabobank riding today? He is on form, won 2 years ago and is supposed to be their classics captain. Strange. Perhaps they are saving him for the coming races and trust Mark Renshaw to do well today. I guess there is a high chance for a mass sprint from eg. a 40 man...

    March 17th 2012 Milan-Sanremo - The Primavera - 298km

He can handle the distance. The tirreno stage that he won a few days ago was 250 km and very hilly. It lasted 7 hours, 24 mins. San Remo the last few years has been finished in less than 7 hours. I don't think it will pose a problem for him.

    2012 Tirreno-Adriatico Stage 6: Offida-Offida 181km

Damn. I was going to call Matti. On a serious note. I actually think he can win. He is/was one of the best riders on a finish like this one and he is getting onto shape for the coming classics. This year he will ride all the cobbled classics (but not roubaix) and the hilly classics. So he has...

    Vino Comeback Thread

Yes it is too bad. I hope he will get onto form before the more important races. But I guess there is not much even Vino can do about bad form. Except train even more and harder. If it was just some physical thing, i.e. broken bone, he would just have suffered through it, still winning...

    Giro 2012 Field Discussion/Rumours

Yes, but it will most likely be in the middle third of the route. Near the west coast.

    lower gearing options

A 33 tooth chainring is the smallest possible with 110 mm BCD. But there is only slight difference (3%). Otherwise it should be possible to get a 14-32 casette or even a 14-34 casette, but it requires a long cage derailer and is not genuine Campagnolo.

    Sprinters

Matti Breschel from Rabobank. He has won several sprint stages including the last stage in the vuelta and was second at the worlds in Geelong being outsprinted by Hushovd. Perhaps he is not a "true" sprinter, but he has been sprinting a lot and is the best sprinter in Denmark.
